UE3 is a bit behind its time, unfortunately, with the likes of Crysis coming up.

It probably is coming out. Just like it's coming out for the PC this year!

So why did God of War not win anything? And Gears of War has been renown as the best game of the year 06 everywhere and the best game on Xbox 360?
Gears of War crushes any 3rd person shooter like a cockroach ( maybe for the exception of MGS 1,2,3 etc ) and it does it with style.
If they are going to bring out a trilogy, then they will truly rock this world.

Because Gears of War was the first killer app for the 360. There wasn't a game worth owning before Gears of War, so it sold like hot cakes.

I dont own a 360, but my best friend does and I have played through the story mode and it's not really that good. Online makes the game a lot better, if it didnt have online then it'd be like Zone of the Enders - Only worth a rental.

Gears of War maybe the best game on 360, because it's the ONLY game on 360. When I say that, I mean all the other games are either multi-platform or not worth owning, hence the reason why I've not bought a 360.

As for saying Gears is the true owner of the "GoW" anogram, thats like someone bringing out "Polo Simulator 3" and calling it PS3.

Yeah I plan on buying a 360 when I go to best buy

Good Job. Listing only 2 games that I cant buy on PC and 2 games I cant buy on PS3 (PDZ and GRAW). You have no idea what you are talking about. Halo 3 hasnt been released, how'd you know its gonna be a better game? Xbox only ever had one killer app before Gears - Halo. Now it has Halo and Gears.

PS3 - FF13/FF13 Verus - MGS4 - GT5 - Tekken 5 - Tekken 6 - Lair - DMC4 - Killzone 2 - Motorstorm - God of War 3 etc etc.

Also, the 5 games you listed, 4 of them involve shooting and either FPS/3PS if you include Halo and Gears, thats 7 of 8 games listed that fall in to two genres.

IMO PS3 offers more choice in game than 360 and the fact that you listed 7 games out of 8 that are practically in the same genre proves this. The problem with 360, a lot of their games are/will be available for PC. Halo 2 is coming out soon for PC as is Gears of War.

As I said earlier, I can buy all the games you listed on PC/PS3. The only reason why the PS3 has poorer versions is because the development teams simply rushed the ports, just like the Halo port from Xbox to PC and the MGS2 ports from PS2 to Xbox/PC. Once the devs start utilising the PS3s true power, then we will see what the PS3 can do.

ShoppDaWhoop, funnily enough, I am a Playstation fan. Why? Because I play the MGS games and the Pro Evo games, and frankly, on the Xbox they fail at Pro Ev ( minimal gameplay and it misses half of the teams ) . BUt the 360 offers that bit more to gamers online, the whole idea of a profile and achievements and gamerpoints is great, you can go buy some sweet upgrades to games online on the Xbox. It is basically a computer, a sweet one at that.
I was actually backing the PS3 until a few months ago when I clearly saw they were not going to change the atrocious price tag on the monster of a console.
I gave up.
£550 quid really is not appropriate, they took it one step too far, and now, guess what? The United States have banned them from using their first chip for the PS3, because it was too powerful and "could be used for more dangerous things outside the console" . So now, just like they did with the PS2, they will have to release a shitter console than the one displayed because if they don't, they will be banned from selling in the US and the EU.
The PS2s' massive hype was the fact it had such a powerful chip in it, it could blow your head off. But Sony had to stop the production of the chip for the simple reason that some maniac could use it in a guided missile. Same is happening to the PS3.
If the PS2 had kept its original chip, then the Xbox 360 would have probably been on par with it at this moment in time.

Charging £550 for a console that they want CHILDREN and TEENAGERS to play is criminal, downright criminal. The Xbox 360 offers the same, with some missing games, but at minus £220 the cost. So which one to get? The 360, why? I love Halo, and Gears of War changed gaming history.

I admit, the PS3 will have some immense games, probably better than the 360, but at nearly double the price, what is really the point?
