BFROE is fucking pathetic. I never thought the day would come when a video game has its own set of laws that supposedly all players and servers must adhere to. BF2 is a video game. I play video games to get a break from reality. I don't play video games to follow some fucking "rules of engagement", I want to shoot some motherfuckers up!!
If you don't like getting TKed for vehicles, play in a well-adminned server. If anarchy and disorder is your game, you went on Insomnia 365. BF2RS was OK when they only handled adminning the EA Official servers and EA Partner servers. Then when they got into the fascist state of a ROE, that started deteriorating. But even then, the BF2RS guys were sensible.
But one man wouldn't stand for sensibility. He wanted to call all the shots and be the king of the castle, as Borat would say. His name was IndianScout. He was dropped from BF2RS for unknown reasons, presumably for leaking the 1.2 patch and tester-exclusive info on it. So after many sessions with a psychotherapist who evidently didn't fix his megalomania, he set out to accomplish his dream: being the Hitler of a video game.
BFROE was founded on a dark day, a day I don't remember. But it was unleashed. Much like BF2RS, except directed by a Nazi and co-directed by his British slave/personal whore Dan500. Dan always aspired to be like IndianScout, but Scout would always zap him with a taser when he tried to fellate him without his permission.
And so the ROE empire grew. Other nerds who wanted power under the facade of "bettering the community" joined, and soon BFROE gained recognition from the other fascist state, EA. They received a sponsorship from MyIS (reportedly, IndianScout raided their corporate offices and held their technicians hostage until said sponsorship was given).
And so it began. The devolution of gaming. The People could no longer empower themselves, but instead play according to a strict set of rules in fear that they could be wiped because some overpaid (or unpaid) assholes decided to make laws because their wife left them, their dog bit them, and their ice cream melted.
An end must come to this ROE madness. I see nothing wrong with having an administration program as BF2RS originally was. Big gaming communities might want extra help, or servers like nVidia, EA, ZBoard, etc could use a hand. But threatening the wiping of stats because of "unfair gameplay"? How pathetic.
I personally never liked the i365 servers because it was a hell-hole full of fucking circus animals. But that's why servers with proper administration are around. An admin can be an asshole all he wants; word will get around and the only people in the server will be him and his imaginary friends.
If someone statspads, who cares? They're pathetic because they're cheating for virtual numbers, but you aren't much better crying over those numbers. You can sleep well at night knowing that your digits are legit.
In short: Fuck BFROE, fuck policing of video games, fuck EA (obligatory, cause EA supports BFROE...).
