Ive been playing 1.12 for the last couple of days and its great, but there arent many other people playing it.

Looking through game monitor i saw this

So, where can i download 1.0 (cant find it anywhere)

There is no '1.0' that is just the original install. uninstall BF2 and reinstall it without patches.

I don't think my installation of BF2 was 1.0, I bought it in April '06 IIRC and I think it was pre-patched. I may be wrong though.

Download an image file of BF2 somewhere or get yourself a new setup.exe from EA (don't know - well, I doubt their support isn't that good, you know) by pretending your old one didn't work. May also be pre-patched, though - so stick with the image file.
Enter your serial that you legally obtained, of course (noone can punish you therefore) and play the game on 1.0

there is no prepatched version of the game.

All games come with the same version- 1.0

i think if u will install Sf as well, then Bf2 will be patched to 1.2

You have to have 1.12 to play sf you could have 3 patches though.

You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

Yep, SF patches to 1.12, even if you have 1.2,1.22, 1.3, 1.4 or 1.41. It REALLY likes 1.12.

The install goes fine, apart from EAReg crashes.

Then when i load up BF2 it goes black screen (as it should) then back to desktop and nothing. Grrr

I don't think you uninstalled properly then. I've reinstalled BF2 three or four times and I've gone into the basic installation more than once, last time I took screenshots of the original images of the different player classes in BFHQ.

Just kidding. Just uninstall and reinstall again. There was probably a misplaced file or something minor like that.

Delete the X:\Program Files\Battlefield 2\ folder
Delete the My Documents\Battlefield 2\ folder
start > run: regedit
go to My Computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > EA GAMES and delete Battlefield 2.

That should clean pretty much everything up.

How are you uninstalling it? With add/remove programs, just deleting it from going into c drive > program files, or the old way of going into start > programs > battlefield 2 > uninstall battlefield2 way.

Update.

Given up with 1.0 (no ranked servers) so just going back to 1.12 and 1.41.

But now SF wont install.... ahhhhh *cries*

Will uninstall (via add/remove programmes + manual cleanup) and try again *sigh*
