BF2 has gone through a lot of changes, but luckily, some changes were NOT made. Here are some new kits that were rejected:

Backseat driver - New chat phrases let this solider tell you *exactly* where he thinks you should have turned - "You're going the wrong way n00b!"
Techno sniper - carries a soundsystem of throbbing rave music and has a Ghillie suit made entirely of glowsticks - *Uhn tis, Uhn tis, Uhn tis*
Prankster - armed with whoopie cushions, slippery banana peels and flashbangs disguised as med packs - "Get first aid here!" *BOOM*
Mine drone - "Mine, mine, mine"
Camper - complete with tent, bbq pit, and smores!
Mumbler - No matter what he says, you just can't understand any of it. "What? Speak up!"
Honky - Armed with a super loud Vodnik horn *BEEP BEEP*
Ghost - Due to problems with the game code, DICE could only make a regular character with a white sheet pulled over him, scary!

Any more you've heard of?

"The Nagging Wife" - always there to tell you what a lousy shot you are, critiques your driving, completely dissaproves of any explosives because "someone has to clean up that mess and I know it's not going to be you because you're too lazy" Keeps talking so you can never hear any of the ingame chatter. Notorious for stepping in front of your rifle (effectively blocking your line of fire) and asking things like: "Do you still love me?" "Have I put on weight?"

"The Faggot" - Always punishes you for tks, even if they block your jet takeoff.

"The Whiner" - Will whine about anything and everything. Even if you use unlocks.

"Take a Hint Player" - Will repeatedly call kick and mutiny votes all round every round and will never ever see one pass.

Not really... she can be occasionally, but for the most part she's easy going. She does have her moments though, but she usually leaves me alone when I'm in-game.

The 'reporter': Armed only with a camera, microphone, and light armour clearly marked with 'PRESS', huddles in buildings commenting on battles. Occasionally runs in front of vehicles, into artillery, or through firefights, and if killed by anyone is counted as a teamkill.
Rejected due to only assholes being willing to play it, and being a liability to everyone. Replaced with an AI script, which can be heard in some buildings on urban maps if you listen veery carefully.

The 'redneck' army is an entire rejected concept. A cross between the MEC and the insurgents from special forces, their vehicles were cobbled together from knocked out vehicles, but had an obscenely high transport capacity. Armed with a variety of weapons, they were meant to proceed everywhere at high speed with terrible and distorted country music playing and shouting at the other armies. The revolutionary aspect was the heavy melee weapon: The pitchfork.
Rejected due to: The pickup truck full of armed, shouting, slack-jawed Texans that showed up at EA's headquarters with a threat of legal action due to being an 'opressed minority'.

They also rejected game mechanics:
Civillian traffic: This was essentially meant to clutter up the streets of urban maps (and later the freeways in Armoured Fury), by trying to get from one end of the map to the other, stopping frequently to dismount and visit stalls and the like, and obstructed players. Indistinguishable from the 'defending' side, they counted as teamkills for the attackers, no matter who shot at them. Rejected due to a playtester collapsing from high blood pressure due to anger directed at them, and the sheer callous attitude of some players simply driving over them in tanks.

Weather: Changed somewhat randomly throughout rounds, this could cut visibility to almost zero, or make the ground treacherously slippery. While the slippery mud in severe conditions made dolphin-diving and bunnyhopping difficult, the particle modelling caused severe lag, players quickly became a uniform shade of smeared brown, campers sank and drowned, and vehicles slid backwards down hills instead of climbing them. At the other extreme, the sun-dried dust got everywhere, coating players in a uniform shade of light brown. The wind blowing it made flying near impossible, due to the tendency of buildings to suddenly loom out of nowhere.

And they even tossed out an idea for a whole new mod, too; Terrorist Tactics.
The entire point of this was to attack the other team in an unconventional manner; opening fire before running away, suicide attacks, and using stolen or hijacked civillian vehicles to damage objectives.
Rejected due to being insentitive.

Technically, this shouldn't be here, the game is full of them.....

Gay Police Man - Has only handcuffs and limp wristed slaps. They have to arrest people for carrying firearms and having really bad dress sense.

Ice Cream Man - Sells Icecream, handy on those really hot maps, increases/replaces stamina

Old Jewish Guy - Stumbles around the map waving a stick at all players and says things like "Oi vey, can't you not all get along?" and "Get up off the floor you look like a shlameel!"
