BF2S Forums No response from control inputs after joining server.

As mentioned above, I tried joining as many servers as I can with the same results. The game is stuck at the menu where you choose your kit and spawn point. The mouse doesn't move and any keyboard input does not work either, other than ALT TAB. I don't know what's wrong. I can hear the chatter and explosions but I jus't can't seem to get into the actual game. Help please?
