He also told us that you can also prove that 2 actually equals 1.
Let x = y
x2 = xy Multiply thoough by x
x2 - y2 = xy - y2 Subtract y2
(x-y)(x+y) = y(x-y) Factorise both sides of the equation
x+y = y Divide through by (x-y)
y+y = y Since we originally said that x = y
2y = y Make y = 1 (simplist, but can be done with any number)
i.e. 2 = 1
Oh yeah, and along with sin, cos and tan, you also have secant, cosecant and cotangent - but they are very rarely used, if at all.

I learned that first equation in Statute Law when the lecturer was giving examples of how you can form arguments on pretty much anything.

1/3 = 0.3333...
3 * 0.3333... = 0.9999...
3 * 1/3 = 1

And you can never reach 1 from 0.9999. cause it is equal to 1, try to reach 0.9999... backward from 1, you will never reach it cause it is 1.

it makes it look like it, but the slopes of the two triangles are different. So it changes the area slightly by having it convex instead of concave.SmackDowN wrote:
