OK, Checked that its not in PIO mode. Disabled Norton whilst running, and its STILL a dog verifying. Loading is just a few seconds, but verification can take 30 or 40 seconds.mongodv8 wrote:

Its all about the RAM...With 1GB, it look several minutes to get past the verifying client data portion, I added another gig and it literally only takes seconds now.
Any ideas??
What exactly is it doing during verification?
The only things left to look at are HD speed or graphics card.
The HD is a std 160Gig Serial ATA 7200 rpm and the graphics card is a 256MB Nvidia GeForce 7800. Thing is I'm running a 24" UltraSharp Widescreen Digital Flat Panel @1920 x 1200 so that might be a strain on things.
Any ideas chaps?
