WTF WMV what are they and why wont they play on windows media player 11 and what will play them?
Windows Media Video. If it doesn't play in WMP then its not a valid WMV.

Most fakes you get off "limewire" and programs like that, are WMVs. Dont know why tho...

Download VLC-Media Player from here. It's free, and plays back pretty much everything. It also installs codecs for other applications to use. In other words: Install the VLC-Player, and retry playback of the WMV-file on your WMP11. If it still doesn't work, I'd run a virus check (if you got it off limewire).
