i countered by saying there are more important things to worry about in the next patch than something frivolous like changing your name.
I agree that those issues should be attended to in the next patch, but what Iam trying to say is that "start another freaking topic with what your saying", I started mine with the improvement I would like to see, not what you would like to see, thats why you go to the BF2-Improvements and start a new topic on what you would like to see,ThomasMorgan wrote:

Yes! I so want to get rid of the 324 after my name. only reason it's there is because I used the regular sewermasta as my username for the demo of BF2 when it came out and EA wouldn't let me use it for the real thing.

Nothing will bring more stupidy that the ability for anonymity(sp?)
Servers can ban based on IP/Account so that part shouldn't be a problem, but it will make tracking a person virtually impossible for the average player. That and my list of "people I don't play with" will become useless

I think you shouldnt be able to constantly change your damn name like some other dumbass FPS. But transfering to a new account your create through EA would be nice. Like for those who put a clan tag in their registered name could just create a new account with a new name and their stats would transfer. But they should keep their player number.

I liked Steam's implementation of in game names. First you had a log on name to log into the Steam system. This way, when you change names you don't have to use a different username to logon. Then, once you start a game, you can play with any nickname your heart desires, as long as that name wasn't taken in that particular server. (This is key, it would suck if EA did this but had no duplicates allowed on a global level. Cause then I would change my name, and if i wanted to change back it might be taken already). And last, for those of you worried about pinpointing a player, they have the steam_id, which I'm guessing is equivalent to the PID here in BF2. This way, you could track down hackers and other players by a static id, rather than their temporary ingame name.
