You can burn them as .mp3's and they will play on your computer. If you want them to play in your cd player they obviously won't work.
If you are going to play in a normal CD player then DVD's obviously wont work.keimtime wrote:

i need to put music files on a dvd/r-rw disk nero
need to put them on different computer
create a data DVD should solve the problem or use a different burning application (i use www.ashampoo.com)
Most recent commercial set-top CD/DVD players are capable of playing discs called MP3 Music CD's. This is a relatively standard format and one which any decent burning application should be able to handle. Now, MP3 Music DVD's is another thing entirely. It is a very new standard, and as such, there is very limited support among set-top DVD players. One app that I do know will create MP3 Music DVD's is Nero 7. But, of course your DVD player would need to support that format.
Now, there is also DVD audio. This was supposed to replace music CDs and never took off. If you've ever looked at the directory structure on a DVD there is usually two subfolders: VIDEO & AUDIO. The audio subfolder is almost always empty. Anyway, I know that DVD audio is in a special format (mpeg-4 ?), but I've never done anything with it as it is kind of pointless IMHO.
Then, of course, you could just burn the files to the DVD as a data DVD and you can play them on a computer - but not in a set-top player.
Hope this helps.

Then just burn as a data DVD and transfer to the other machine.$eXXXyCabbage wrote:

My 6 year old DVD player reads MP3 DataDVDs no problem. If you're transferring to another computer then yes, it will read it.
'CD players' will only read a CD-ROM/CD-Audio (newer ones read CD-R and CD-RW).

My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
This might be a stupid question, but do you actually have a dvd burner or just cd burner.
dvd its just burning a music image onto a dvd disk that is stopping me
but i am trying diff approach
