Are there any other patches worth getting besides SF?

I am sure this post has already been up dozens of times, but since I have not read it, here it goes.

Besides SF, are there any expansion packs worth buying? Or is 2142 worth it? If not, does anyone know when the next patch is coming out?

AF is a fun booster pack. Every map(only three) has tanks galore and the pack introduces the A-10. And, it's only 10 bucks.

And there's rarely a server hosting maps for it. In my opinion the booster packs are a huge waste of money, even if they are only $10.

I own all the BF2 stuff (not 2142 though), and SF is the only one I'd consider spending money on again. SF has Warlord, which for me at least, is the most fun BF2 map for ranked play. SF has grappling hooks, zip lines, tear gas, and more, all of which, again IMO, are implemented really well. Night maps are a big change from normal play as well, and you won't get those except in SF. The 10 dollar booster packs are a bit of a waste. As others will say, there are very few servers running these. I played them a bit on unranked servers, but very little ranked play. At least on the servers I played, AF was the most fun.

I haven't checked out any of the booster packs in a loooong time, but I still play SF...take that as you will.

armored fury is worth it but not a lot of servers run it. While im writing those lines, there are only 10 populated servers in the world running armored fury (thanx to game-monitor.com)

it sucks.... i played it for about 200 hours and it gets very boring and repeatitive.... everything is noobified and nothing takes any skill and everything is nefred right out of the box

exactly. 1100 hours of bf2, still lovin every minute. 170 hours of 2142, forced myself to play with the clan....200 becomes unbearable....,

If you like your infantry combat, dont get EF and AF.
There are about 2-5 servers for both mods that are populated every day and are running all the time. Some in the US, some in Europe.

They are vehicle heavy. Which is why I think they are both awesome

I would probably buy AF again, but not EF. EF is great, but teamstacking fuckfaces ruin it. If they had included the EU from the outset of BF2 then the problem wouldnt have existed.

Why are there so few servers? Because too many people were crying about boosterpacks costing money, without even taking a look at the maps and the features. the af maps are well designed and balanced. the littlebird rules and even the a10 is fun. IT IS worth the money.
you should also buy the euroforce boosterpack. it is not as good, as the other, but even that is still worth the money.
