I have the full Assault tree unlocked along with nades, both sprint, SLSB, and the Otus drone. Typically, I play Assault or Engineer. Rarely Support or Recon. I'd like the sentry gun so I'm thinking I might start playing support more to get that. As a squad leader I could drop the beacon at a flag or silo and then move to the other side and provide cover fire. The Pilum and autorepair for Engineer is really tempting, though. I've picked that up off enemy I've killed and it's awesome. But the Clark shotty is so much fun on the Support side. Thoughts?

If you play the assault and engineer kits more, and you have the assault tree unlocked, unlock the engineer tree...
Probably a good idea, however, I played a fair amount of support after I had the PKM in BF2. It's nice to be able to keep my squad full of ammo as a squad leader. Hmmm . . .
You kind of answered your own question...

As I said up top, I played support as squad leader in BF2 after I got the PKM. The Ganz seems very similar so I could keep my squad topped off with ammo and suppress. Or I could run around the flag or silo blasting people off their fee with the Clark.
I play Engineer to respond to vehicle threats, otherwise I'd play Assault or Support.

Support.
Clark is very fun, one hit kills, its own pin, and extremely moblie.
The Ganz is the Ultimate weapon for point whoring. Lay down on the titan with a IPS and Enforecer by your side and you will regularly get 60+ points before the awards are factored in.

Pilum over Clark
Engineer is good only for Titan mode. In Conquest most servers play only city maps, rarely do I see full Conquest maps where titans can be used.
Support is tons O fun and its very easy to get points. Plus the Clark 15B is the shotgun the engineers should've had.

Which side of the tree first? Are the EMP nades any good?doctastrangelove1964 wrote:

i just unlocked the clark and i have to say i fell in love with that gun
Clark is oh so tempting, but the sentry gun and Ganz are, too. BUT then there's the Pilum and the auto-repair. Decisions, decisions. I'll keep playing and by the time I decide I'll have two unlocks to choose.
The Clark would be a nice upgrade to the SMGs.vpyroman wrote:

support,
engineer unlocks are great to have, dont get me wrong... but as engineer on most maps i rarely score more points than any other kit.
of course since you have all of support, engineer might be ideal since it would make you more versatile.
as engineer, your gonna want the Pilum and the Repair 2.0 at least as a Field Upgrades, so you are looking at 4 ranks for the bare minimum.
i have all of engineer but the Ballz and the AA gun... its enough for me.

I find Clark rather random, sometimes it needs two shots or more even if you have the aim on them. Sometimes it takes one shot to kill.
But I say, go for the Engineer as Pilum is just so fun to play around with and you can take down a lot of things with it. Plus I use it on all Titan in the start and use the other kit later in the round.

the engineer class is the most useful class in vehicle intensive maps, and the support is more useful in infantry intensive maps. based on what you like to play more, go with that unlock set first. the pilum and the roller mines are badass unlocks.
Remember Me As A Time Of Day
i would recommend the clark then get the pilum tree unlocked and the motion mines aswell
I'd say the Pilum is worth more than the clark as Clark is only usefull in close combat. Which only happens at the end of the round in Titan rounds or on some infantry maps but still the distance is to long for Clark to be really usefull. Unlike the Engineer kit.
Engineer should be your next choice since its probably the only class that can effectively take down vehicles. Also, for example, having Engineer kit at hand means that if your team is being greedy for infantry kills, and ignoring the walker (which is KILLING, CAPPING, and TERMINATING), you can deal with it yourself instead of relying on the useless teammates out there. As a person who spent quite a share in walker pilot seat, those motion mines annoy the hell out of me.
which ever u want it will take 5 minutes to unlock all of the other trees
I go for Support, and work towards the Clark, if your into Titan mode. Justification, i find the stock engi setup to be perfectly adequate at taking down vehicles, and i havnt unlocked any engi items, and still do well with that class. Support, purely because that Clark owns something bad, i got it yestarday, and it excels in titan combat. The stock lmgs do as well, but arnt so useful in CQB, whereas the Clark is pretty unbeatable

You can make the support tree useful with 3 to 4 unlocks by doing the GANZ tree (you don't really need the GANZ though) as the Clark has limited use and can wait. The engineer tree needs 4 unlocks to get the Pillum and another 3 for the roller mines.
i like support more now since i have some decent unlocks with them.. i hated being engineer in BF2, but that will change in 2142. i want to get a good experience with that Pilum AVR that everyone is talking about..

My gameplay style would factor heavily into this, forgot to mention that. Usually I play conquest on our clan’s server, but lately I've played more Titan because I can get good round scores more consistently. I just run around keeping the silos capped, though, it’s extremely rare for me to go on the Titan because I die too much.Clarity wrote:

Is it true that all the unlocks are available on unranked? I heard that somewhere and if it's true I could use that to try out the unlocks and see what to pick. Is the shield on the Clark side really that useful? When I have a spot where I can camp out prone, I love the Ganz. But running around I’m pretty much a sitting duck to any Assault or a Recon with a Lambert. What kind of range does the Clark have? I play city maps the most, but sometimes I need some range. In BF2 I really liked the M11-87 shotty so the Clark has some appeal.
Kill someone that has the Pilum and then run around shooting infantry with it. People will curse your name, but it's fun! The reason I like the Pilum is that it’s fire and forget so you can shoot, duck behind cover and still hit your target. I don’t think you have to guide it like the regular Engineer weapon, but it’s been awhile since I’ve used it since I don’t have it unlocked.thebestshooter wrote:

The sentry guns are absolutely amazing for defending, especially two:

Offers fantastic defense. Although engineer can be very handy on Titan because of the air and amount of vehicles used. Conquest is mainly infantry usually, so titan is the way to go engineer.
edit: obviously, someone else in my team put one sentry and one ips shield. With me behind those IPS shields and an ammo pack beside me, and with two sentries in the doorway, NO ONE is getting through there.

Sentry guns are replenished by an ammo hub after the others are destroyed, correct?
