System specs here

AMD 3800+ X2 64 bit. Without OC its at 2.01 or so GHZ
1GB Ram DDR2 667 (dont know latencies)
7600GT
MSI Nforce 550 K9N-Neo
7200RPM SATA2 8mb cache

Ok I want to get an extra bit of performance out of my 3800X2 but it seems like I can only get an extra 100mhz. My CPU runs pretty cool at 38C GFX at 45 and System at about 35 every time I attempt to OC the 3800 at BIOS above around 210 FSB my system will load up to windows then restart it then sets itself back to default settings. I want to know if anyone can help my OC this better. I can OC it to 2.4 GHZ but then it just doesn't even post I gotta manually restart to get it up and running again. I want to know how to unlock my multiplyer or what the problem is.

I had the same problem OC'ing my 3800+, have you allready tried upping the CPU voltage?

That would be a last resort this is a rather newish PC and im quite happy with it as it is. I'd just like to see how much extra I could squeeze out without endagering my system.

My pc is also quiet new, only a month, and upping the voltage with like 0.1 is still in the safe settings zone, anyway if you do not wish to up the voltage then I guess that you will have to do with about 100mhz more..and thats about it, not that it makes any difference, I oc'ed my 3800+ from 2.4 to 2.6 GHz and I barely notice anything..

So 0.1 is all I gotta put it up by as in 0.1 volts. Cool where can I set this option. And will I notice a difference 2.01 to 2.4

Have looked through BIOS cant find anything anywhere that will increase voltage of CPU. However I can for memory.

about the only thing I've overclocked is my AMD 3500+ 3%, so now it runs at 2.27 GHz.  I'm one of those panicky types who doesn't want to burn out a CPU...though I definitely need to upgrade the damn thing.  Probably should do that when I get back to college, see how much improvement I can get when I boost it to possibly a 4000+ or more (they're getting cheaper every day, I swear)

My mem is showing up as 335MHZ that is a correct reading for DDR2 667 right?

Ok at 2.1 now CPU-Z is showing everything good next level is voltage setting's does anyone know how to change them or do I need to play with it. I tried to get ram to 2.05 instead of average 1.85 (2.05 is high performance 1.85 is normal) at 2.05 with 220.0 went all the way to loading windows but it kept going forever. I changed voltage down to 2.00 and then it just froze and came up with a mem error on loading windows. Anyone know what the problem is im thinking its the memory.

my volts are about 1.51 and currently my 3500+@2.6GHz

But how did you increase voltage? I cant increase voltage for my CPU the option is greyed out in Ntuner and I cant find it in BIOS. My CPU voltage is 1.3 however. Just put HT clock up to 630 dunno what that does but system is still stable. Was on 430 after overclock and normally is on 400. Anyone know how to unlock the times multiplyer or am I stuck on 10.

I didn't. now I get strange lag in games if I OC my CPU more than 150mhz but my FPS was very high running at 2.6GHz so I have no idea what's wrong =/

i've got a 3200 on a gigabyte board, and i can't change my multiplier either. it may be one of those things that is motherboard specific.  wish i could answer your other questions. i have a MBIT = motherboard intelligent tweaker on mine and can change all those settings (voltage, fsb, etc.) in one place. unfortunately i don't have experience with your mobo's BIOS.

Just set HT to set to what it thinks is good previously it was running at 400 and my PC has now set it to 1000 no problems so far but I had a crash at 2.16 after a while that reset my PC. Gotta find how to adjust that voltage.

Try reducing the HT multiplier from 5 to 4.

As for your CPU voltage control, it is probably there, but there may be a CPU feature that is on auto, and that needs to be changed to manual.  I have to do that on my mobo before I can access those CPU functions.

I got lucky enough to get one of the 90nm S754 chips.  I have mine clocked to 2.7GHz.

oh sweet, now it works (changed HT multiplier to AUTO) running now at 2.42GHz with 1100MHz HTT eh

edit: 2,2@2,45GHz with Vcore 1,5@1,535 testing testing...

edit: it is fully stable, sweet. now I'm gonna go for 2,5GHz and 1,55 Vcore
