Cut a long story short and getting to the point, has any of you noticed that the rockets from the rocket attachment for the assault kit sometimes jus pass through the wall/screen/building etc etc that ur aiming at? Ive found it to be really random; most of the time theyll explode at the point i want them 2 but occasionally 1, 2 or even all 3 will jus simply go through.

It has a very simple explanation.

The rocket only explodes after 20 meters. This means, if you aim anything closer, it will just not do anything unless you hit the target directly.

it doesnt even do anything when it hit a target within 20 metres...the rockets just pokes them..

I've killed people at less than 20 meters with a direct hit from the PK-72, no explosion, just a headshot.

I've fired rockets at people before they reached the desired arming distance
ad it doesn't seem to do any damage.

Or perhaps damage is reduced to like 1 or something like that and you can actually finish of a seriously crippled enemy?

[indicating someone other than himself]Somebody[indicating someone other than himself] ought to load up Fraps and try it out and post it here.

One question: does the rocket arc like the GL in bf2 or fly in straight pattern like the tank shells?

They have a slight arc but it's not hard to judge its trajectory even at long distances.

can you give some pointers on t o effectively use this weapon?  It has been so frustrating in the past that I have refrained from using it unless I'm defending the Titan, I use it to take out the enemy in the upper cargo decks.

erm.point at enemys location.fire rockets.kill. is roughly it. easier to use than bf2's nade launchers. It doesn't have much of a dip, unless your firing about 30 metres plus. Oh, and if a enemy is behind cover, just shoot a wall nearby to them, this may require more rockets tho. good hunting

sorry if wasn't specific enough.  I know the rockets are disarmed at <20m so if you didn't zoom at all and you point and shoot you don't get a distance meter on your enemy so how do you know if you are to close or not.  I have tried backing up to extend the distance but it doesn't always work.  Do you use the zoom to determine how far your target is then adjust accordingly or do you just aim and shoot regardless of distance?  I guess my problem has been to go for the splash damage to kill the enemy rather than spearing him (<20m) aiming directly at soldier as opposed to the area next to him.  I guess I'm just to analytical about the situation.   sorry

No worrys, and don't worry about the distance. After a while of playing the game (even more so if you played bf2) you get quite accurate at judging distance, so it sorta becomes second nature when to know not to fire. keep practicing.

Guns FTW. I use pure aiming skill instead of the rockets:P

They should make rockets stick in your enemy if they hit before they detonate, and then the rocket should explode about ten seconds later.   Engies could get rocket disarm points for disarming them in the right amount of time, too.  That would be sooo awesome.
