Yes, another 'which should I do' thread.  But I really have no idea, and I don't want to use up a bunch of unlocks only to be displeased with what I get.

Now, I've already got the whole Baur Tier + one unlock from the Voss Tier for Assault, and that's all I really want from it for now.  I want to expand my horizons a bit and make another kit more useful.

I've decided I either want Recon or Engineer...  but the choice isn't very simple!  For me, anyway.  Now, I think being recon is fun but I suck at it.  The potential is there as I occasionally get a good round, but largely I do terribly. 

My Choices

Zeller tier - I already have the APM from this tier.  I was thinking this would be the next tier I go for, but now I'm not so sure.  I do want the scope for zooming, but from what I hear going all the way up the tree to get the Zeller isn't worth it.

Lambert - The big thing I want from this tier is the camo.  Helpful for obvious reasons.

Pilum tier - Despite the Pilum apparently being awesome (so I hear) I don't really want anything else in this tier.  So I'd sort of just be blowing four unlocks to get the pilum.

SAAW tier - I don't really want the SAAW, but I think the unlocks in the SAAW tier would be much more helpful than the unlocks in the Pilum tier (except the Pilum of course)

I've got no idea what the best course of action is here.

The lambert opens up the recon class to being a very functional soldier. The advanced med-hub will make the assault class more useful. The pilum is a fantastic gun and unfortunately if you want it you have to go up the tree.

Yes, the Pilum will scrap 3 unlocks before getting the goodie, but you won't regret it!

Lambert is one of the first tree i have unlock, i'm not a sniper so it was an important one for me - not to mention you get the DemoPak AND camo (it is really more usefull since 1.10)

Hm, I'm thinking I might go for the Lambert tier.  I really want that camo, plus I'm pretty decent with close range weapons so it'll probably make the recon class more useful to me.  I also already have the APM for recon so that unlock won't go to waste.  I want the Pilum, but I'm just not willing at this point to unlock all the things before it in the tier to get it.  Plus, the camo will make it easier for me to go around knifing people Thanks for the responses.

Oh, and as far as getting the advanced med hub, I've considered it, but I usually end up just getting it as a field upgrade.  That seems to be working alright for now.  And the field upgrade after the med hub is smoke, and I don't see myself wanting that as a field upgrade anytime soon :p

well i got all the unlocks for recon.

it depends on what you like..


you like sniping... get the damn zeller H Advanced sniper rifle... people who bash it becuase it has only 3 rounds per clip dont know what sniping is all about and just spray and pray. i got a crapload of infiltrator pins because of the zeller and some serious kill streaks. does 90 pts of damage , 20 pts more than the moretti SR4 and the park 52 sniper base rifles.

your into close up and running around with explosives.... lamber carbine... nasty rate of fire so watch that ammo counter. real nice up close and medium range... too inaccurate at long range becuase it has too much spread. single shot mode for those types of engagements.

best way to use a lambert is with active cameo.. sneak behind, decloak, shoot them with the lambert from behind= dead noob. then repeat. or sneak behind 5 people camping, drop c7, run away, and detonate. 5 dead noobs in one shot.

The Pilum together with Dystek Repair, Lollermines and that thingy you disarm mines with will help you so much playing conquest on the non-citymaps and Titan.

If you´re into sniping the zoom is a must alot of people keeps saying it´s not needed but with it it gets very easy to score headshots. ( The zeller is.. matter of taste most prefer the stocks )

Or if you want something matching your assaultkit go for the camo with lambert it´s fun to play with rvery useful when sneaking to the back bases.

zeller unlocks are useless...hmm .someone here does not know how to aim... that 3 round handicap will force you to learn how to aim correctly, something that most noob snipers dont do anymore. it does more damage per round..

BTW: i have a 60% Accuracy with the zeller. and a 40%  accuracy with the morretti. and i get more one shot kills with the zeller even a chest shot.

pilum: from what i hear from a crap load of people, it is an awsome unlock..once i get a pilum,, i am going to have a field day blowing up battlewalker whores who just vehicle whore to get badges....

Basicly you have Assault, Support and Recon as mostly anti-infantry. On the other hand you have engineer clas which is anti-vehicle.
Sure you can use RDX to blow up vehicles but its not as easy as you might think.

So my sugestion always is to first improve the Engineer class and ONE of other 3 classes, you favorite. At this point you are able to play all maps and tackle all enemies. Pilum is amazingly good and you get the thing that disarms explosives and motion mines. If you like using Tanks and Walkers thats an unlock you must have.
After that use your unlocks as you pleasse.

Alright, I want to revisit this because I may have changed my mind.  Turns out I don't suck at recon as a sniper, I just took a little time to get used to it.  Now I got my recon excellence bronze pretty quick and when I am using the scope as a field upgrade, I usually get 1st or 2nd place in the round for Recon Kit and the Maretti/Park.

So I want to get the scope as my next unlock.  The question is... If I use two more unlocks to get the Zeller, will I get more kills for it?  I remember when I got the Baur for Assault I started doing much better.  I'm wondering if the Zeller can have the same impact.

I really want the camo so if the Zeller won't help me much I'll just get the scope then switch tiers.

no i doubt you will get more kills if you take the zeller because the stabilizer ain't worth shit, so take the zoom which is like the best unlock ever for the sniper and then go up the lambert and then pilum.

I say your gonna get the most utility outta the Lambert Tree. The Lambert itself is a Good gun, makes Recon a capable ground soldier, and RDX and Cammo are always good.

Then I would suggest Pilum Tree. The Pilum is a GREAT gun, adn the Mine Defuser is actually pretty good on the Titan.

Save it.  Maybe when Northern Strike comes out you can use it then.  Better to wait than to waste it on something you don't/won't use.

No, northern strike won't give you unlock points unless you earn a badge. You don't need a new badge to unlock a new gun if you saved enough points. Hell, I could earn a badge in Northern Strike, get a unlock point, and spend it on APM mines if I felt like it.

About your accuracy you have to remeber that alot of your stats from using the morretti were when you were just learning and once you got the Zeller you would have improved from the the time you had the morretti.
