I'm wondering if DX10 cards will be made for laptops soon. I don't mean business/EA soon, as in 6 months from now. I mean soon as in a month from now. My parents just got divorced so my dad's living at another place... that doesn't have my gaming computer. I'd rather not carry a monitor and case and cables to his place and back, since that's a bit of a hassle. This laptop I'm using is a piece of shit, it lasts about 45 minutes off a full battery charge. And it's not powerful either. Sempron, 512MB of RAM (some is used for the integrated 'graphics'), and an integrated chip from the manufacturer "VIA". Oops.

Vista has piqued my interest, though chances are I'll "acquire" it in a special manner since I'm not paying $400 for eye candy (iCandy?) and some nice improvements. Even XP was a more sane price. Home Basic sounds like crap, and Home Premium doesn't sonud great either (if someone could correct me and show that Ultimate's just a bunch of extra that you don't need that'd be great). DX10 also looks sextacular on Crysis and  Alan Wake, so I don't want to pass those up. And because of the housing situation with my parents, I'd like a system that I can take from place to place with ease (AKA a laptop).

So what's the buzz on DX10 mobile cards?

edit: Yes I googled this, and it was about as useful as putting my dick into a wood chipper.

What DX10 mobile cards? There is only one desktop DX10 card right now... I HIGHLY doubt that there will be any mobile DX10 cards within a month, maybe in 4-6 months one will come out.

Dandy. Why must the more practical things get the short end of the stick? I really don't want to carry around a fucking mid-tower from one part of town to another, only to use it there for a few days before going to the other part of town again.

I know this isn't what your looking for but you know they do make SLI notebooks with Dual 512MB NVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS's, right?
I personally doubt they'll put a DX10 card in a notebook in the next month, maybe with the new 8 series cards they'll release a mobile card though, you never know.

Patience, the mid-range desktop DX10 cards aren't even out yet. More gamers use desktop systems than notebooks, so that's where the companies are going to cater to first, that's where the $$$ is.

Probably not for laptops for a while, especially for the high end cards, due to space and power requirements.

Why the hurry, there aren't even any DX10 games out.

Be sure to get a USB keyboard and a G5 with that

It's what my brother uses, and it's pretty badass. More than my desktop, btw.
