My new mobo only has 4 USB ports in the back plus the 2 up front but I hate using the ones up front because it looks bad so I'm gonna hook up one of my USB Hub's in the back. Obviously I'm not asking for specific devices, just generally, like HDD, Input, etc.
I have one of my external hard drives hooked up so I'll see how that works but I remember seeing in my Wacom Tablet manual & my x52 manual that plugging them into USB hubs isn't recommended. Anyone know what else isn't a good idea?

A SATA hard drive can't be plugged into a USB port.
A USB mouse can.

I've only personally seen problems out of some HP printers and scanners and a RCA Lyra mp3 player.

There.  A nice non-smartassed answer.  See there.  It's Easy!

Well, he asked what probably shouldn't be plugged into a USB port.  I'm just stating the obvious since I have absolutely nothing better to do.
