The reviews show that it is a good card but it runs really hot and sometimes even melts the fan right off. I have completely stock cooling with no room for extra cooling of any sort. So I need help finding the right version of 1600.
I really wouldn;t reccomend a 1600 it's not really a gaming card at all.
BRB gotta change this fuckin sig I'm getting a headache rofl.

It's all I can afford on an AGP slot and I prefer ATi.TheEternalPessimist wrote:

What's your budget mate I'll do some snooping for you, tho I'm drunk so dont expect too much lol.
You're drunk and you have a job, that won't be too understanding of my budget but no one else has said anything yet. 105$ is my max spenditure. (5$ a week allowance). It could be more if the buy let's me slide on paying for the PSU but that would be pretty sleezy of me to do so.....TheEternalPessimist wrote:

If you HAVE to have ATI, then x850 pro. But its clearly beaten by a nvidia 7600GT for the same price mate.......

That's the one I was just looking at. The fact that it has heating issues makes me worry a little bit since i'm using completely stock cooling though.TheEternalPessimist wrote:
Well for that money the 1600 is the best you'll get this one would be ok for you.
If you can bring yourself to pull away from ATi and go for nVidia and can get a few $ extra this is a better buy.
I'm an ATi fanboy like you but the nvidia is just better (just bough an x1950 AGP card myself).
Maybe I should get one of those instead then.TheEternalPessimist wrote:

Ya x850 was ATI's flagship card for a while if I am not mistaking. The x1600 was merely the mid range card, and not a very good one at that :S.

You can always buy a cooler, I was going to post you a link to one by Arctic Cooling but they seem to have discontinued all the coolers for the 1600
Sounds like the 850 is the way to go then. Assuming it's cost-efficient. Need help finding it though, this is all Newegg had: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814102042Bell wrote:

I wish we had more good one like Newegg. Maybe Tigerdirect has something.
Tigerdirect doesn't have 800s. I might just consider getting it from you, lol.
How much do you want for it? I'm getting somewhat desperate now.TheEternalPessimist wrote:

Not a bad idea. I don't plan on overclocking it so is it okay if I use Catalyst 7.1 drivers on it?Stormscythe wrote:
Why not a X1650Pro with mail-in rebate?

Edit: That's a pretty dumb question, the CD it comes with says Catalyst 6.8 on it.
2nd Edit: Turns out that they stop shipping the rebate after today.
