In almost every discussion about weapons, unlocks and many more stuffs people notice the AK-47 being underrated and instantly find the reason for this in the lack of a PLA urban map.
At the same moment I really really wonder why Songhua Stalemate only played on such a few servers. If there ought to be one map that comes close to urban combat in the Chinese theater it is for sure this one. We've got numerous hiding spots, fast vehicles and a little bit of urban terrain around almost every flag, at least, they are not exposed to fire such a lot.
It is furthermore one of the most balanced maps, just like Mashtuur City.
Also, has anyone yet noticed the similarities between Mashtuur and Songhua?
Both don't have any attack choppers but lots of vehicles for transport.
Both have great hiding spots.
Both are not armor dominated (might sound strange for Songhua, but it's true).
Both should be known for fierce battles within small areas and multiple directions of which an assault could come from.
Let's take a closer look at the setup of both maps:
Note: I rotated Songhua a little and we see how similar the main flags are placed.
Also, we get something like a kettle and still, the main flags can be reached on similar ways.
Now, I've already said that Songhua isn't that armor-dominated. It's freakin' true. This is a map where it's rather easy to earn golden stars as an anti tank since you have lots of shelter to pop out, with some medic along your side, and a squad of 4-5 people (the more the better) this map is really great fun.
This one ought to be played much, much more.
