Thats right $15.8 Million FOR 1 YEAR! that is the quite possibly the biggest waste of money i have ever seen. Hes old and he will prolly get injured again, why pay 15.8 million for that when you could get a young gun for half that. sigh. im not even a base ball fan but that is ridiculos.
I'd say A-Rod's deal with the Rangers was a bigger waste.
Hopefully he can hit 22 homeruns this season and break the record as a Giant, at least make all this money worth it.
Baseball is like watching the grass grow. Personal opinion of course.

it can be exciting at times, like when its at the bottom of the 9th and a guy smacks a homer. Thats cool and fun i guess, but other than that, I'd have to agree. It is pretty boringKmarion wrote:

football on the other hand...
Basketball and hockey are good spectator sports...intense nearly the whole time.AirForceOne1 wrote:

yea b-ball is fun to watch. I love the NBA.
baseball > all other sports
I think he should have hung it up without getting the record. I mean it's obvious the guy is juiced! Remember how small he was when he first entered the league!? Him and Bobby Bonilla... the original Killer B's. He's a disgrace to the game, and he should just disappear into obscurity.
David Beckham signed for 250$ million to a team of a sport that is hockey without ice. EAch his own.
What do you think someone would look like if they had 20 years and year after year after year lifted weights and ate right? Don't you think that they'd gain muscle? What if they used Creatin (sp?) or Andro (before it was banned), wouldn't they get bigger?silo1180 wrote:

People are such fucking pussies. You lift weights, you get enormous. Simple as that.
Not true... there are genetics involved. I know guys that have lifted their whole lives and can't put on 10 pounds but they can lift way more than I can.too_money2007 wrote:

I'm just saying it's been made obvious in the last year that the guy has used. McGuire was passed over on his first Hall of Fame ballot, mostly due to the controversy surrounding his use of illegal supplements. Bonds getting the record will always be marred with controversy.
Or you use steroids and blow up over 1 year. DOn't be in such denial to say Bonds isn't juiced. I personally don't care. But don't deny it.too_money2007 wrote:

Not just steroids. Human Growth Hormone. His trainer injected him with a cadavours growth hormone. Its documented. Bonds is juiced.

And you're British... your point? I don't want to get into a flame war, but baseball takes the most skill out of all sports. Any sport that requires a few tenths of a second to react to a ball the size of an orange traveling at 90+ mph, takes more skill than shooting a basketball, kicking a soccer ball, or holding a pigskin and running.pedigreeuk wrote:

Go ahead and flame, but you all know I'm right. Take any baseball player and throw him into another sport, he can play it. Take a basketball/football/soccer player and throw them into baseball, they'll be dominated by the worst the MLB has to offer.

They signed david beckham b/c he is know all over the world and they want the american league to be reconized, they could care less if he plays or not.
back to the bonds thing, is he even going to play outfield anymore?

He'll have to, since he's in the National League. This is his last year no matter what, I think. Unless he decides to go to an AL team and finishes up as a DH.
What are you on about? It may be true that it requires far faster reactions than most other sports, but how does that mean they can play any sport well?too_money2007 wrote:

Each sport requires different strengths from other sports for the player to be successful. Baseball just requires more skill to play, simple as that.
