considering the mediocre performance seen so far from the 8 series (that crysis benchmark) I'm not sure a lesser card is going to be any good for future games.. I'll wait for the next series

the problem i think is the drivers issue. if nvidia would get off it's giant ass and release a decent set of drivers for the card i think it would really begin to show it's muscle.SargeV1.4 wrote:

Wow! cool, If I now only have the Sli 2.0 I can have it running together with my 7600 GT
that's sexy.

The only thing that cards got going for it, is that it is DX10,
i would rather have my X1950XT any day
+ DX10 only vista, i would like to see all the holes that it will have first!

I would expect them to be in the same price range as the 7600GT, since that's what they're replacing.rabee2789b wrote:

I'd definietly buy one at that price, though I guess for the UK market it'll be £120-£150
I'd also consider the upcoming 8800GTS 320MB with 1/2 size memory sticks (32MB instead of 64MB). Street price will be about $299. Get the same performance as the 8800GTS 640MB, but for $150 cheaper. This is what I'm getting.
Edit: LOL. Should have clicked the link.

these are not new.. prices have been out for a long time
that exact page, too.

It's mainly the fact that my experience with ATi has been much better than nVidia.Stormscythe wrote:

that is a good price. I got my 7600GT for $190. Hmmm........when more games of my liking come out, I'll get one.
the guy who said r600>8600 is wrong.
R600>8800GTX PROVEN. tomzhardware did it or something. there was big thread a few weeks ago.

The mainstream and budget DX10 markets are going to be huge and Nvidia already has the jump on them. ATI has been going down the crapper since peaking at the 9*** series because they have been consistently late in delivering products that can compete with Nvidia's.
Was there? I haven't seen this.leetkyle wrote:

There was quite a dubious review, which I'm not convinced by, posted a while back. I'm holding out for reviews/previews from somewhere reputable (like Tomshardware).
I think it might have been this review:
http://level505.com/2006/12/30/the-full … 00-test/1/
Or something simillar. There have been no proper benchmarks of the R600 yet. (If there have I want to see them)

$630 for an r600? I read(somewhere)you'll be lucky to fit into your pc case, and that the power requirements are huge.
