I have played all the MEC maps as the MEC dozens of times, but I haven't received the Middle East Service ribbon. I earned the Far East one forever ago and don't have half as much time playing as the Chinese as I do with the MEC. Does anyone know what the requirements are? BF2s says I should have earned it under my account name (ICaiser). EA won't tell me anything other than that they don't give out the information and that I haven't earned it. I feel as if it's a bug that EA just won't admit too. I'm hoping I'm wrong tho....
there is a weird glitch involving that certain ribbon, along with the MECSF ribbon too. for reasons unknown to me, certain people never receive that ribbon, no matter how much you play the MEC maps. you can always make a new account and get it, if it matters that much to you. sorry chief.
there has been a thousan threads te same, but im not a noob whiner, but yeah, apparently some people get it easier that others, i have the same problem as you, and have just given up on it, some say that it will appear one day but they said that to me about 6 months ago and it still has'nt so dont hold your breath
Are you sure you actually stayed the WHOLE round? You dont get ranks/badges/ribbons etc. unless you stay till the rounds end.Anclerson wrote:

I'm in the same boat as you. I look at my badges and ribbons and look at the middle east service ribbon. I was so pissed when I realized I would never get that simple badge. But I got over it, life goes on...so enjoy it. Don't ever expect to get it.

Yea, I've played all the MEC maps for the entire round as the MEC several times. I'm pretty sure it's a bug. Hopefully EA can/will fix it if they make a 1.5.

Well damm I got the same problem and was hoping for a definitive answer but seems there isn't one.
Is there any possibility that people with the AF and EF packs need to have played all MEC maps included in those exapnsions? All I can think of is that you require a win with a certain minimum score for each map. Though that makes no sense since the far east ribbon does work on the 1 second per map basis.

i got both far east/middle east ribbons from an early patch so i'm not sure why you can't get yours
I got it ages ago, my gf got it recently without any problems and also WITHOUT ever playing on Zatar hahaha

Because the requirements in the UBAR are not correct, nor have I ever seen correct ones anywhere else.
I wouldnt hold your breath on getting it bud. I have over 1000 hours into this game and still havent got the stupid ribbon......
I never got mine awarded in game.... It just appeared on my stats.
There used to be a time played in Theater req of 50 hours. It may have been buged since they removed that.
The requirements in UBAR (and on this site are correct) 1s per map (same as for PLA). There is a bug, and apparently there is no plan to fix it as it was the same on the 1.40 patch. It's really not a big deal as it takes no skill to earn that ribbon. I've been missing mine since about October of last year.
