thats a much better rig than I've got and I play lag free... there are probably lots of internal factors contributing on your machine, ie spyware or other programs using your virtual memory.  I run the game on the bare minimum (literally) requirements, but I get by fine because I have virtually nothing else on my computer. I had bad lag problems the first 3 or 4 days with SF but haven't had any since, also, defraging my drive cut my loading time in half (though its still very long, almost a minute and a half to verify every time)

I cut mine from 1 minute to around 30 or so seconds. Even signing onto the game has been reduced from around 2 minutes to 15 seconds. Now I don't say I have the 'cure all', but you are right about the defrag bit and the spyware/adware stuff... it's the clog factor, especially if the spyware and adware is using up bandwidth... it all factors in

To the original poster.... have a look through the help forums, there's lots of information out there, you'll be up and running smooth as silk in no time
