So what are your views on this matter? The reason i bring this up is because i was on a server called =WWC= (can't remember whether it had the ='s or not :S) today and one guy with the =WWC= clan tag, said to everyone "stop beacon camping, u n00bs", to which i replied "dnt spawn there then if u dnt wanna die, sorry thats the truth".

Neway, there were about five =WWC= guys constantly spawning on the upper deck of the titan (where the vents are) so i decided to take a Yastreb (transport) round the back and land it near to where they were spawning on a beacon. I then switched to one of the gunner seats. So the first =WWC= guy comes down and i kill him, next thing i know i got banned.

Now the way i see it is if they don't wanna keep dying then ffs dont spawn on the beacon! Its a simpe choice, and i agree with the renowned saying of 'Tactics Over Principles'. If it happens to me then i jus choose another spawn point...its not hard!!!

yes because nobody told you to spawn there and be raped.

I agree.  Spawn beacons are not like spawn points.  At a spawn point on a map, the player has no choice (really) which point he will spawn at if he spawns at a certain silo or flag.  The spawn beacon, on the other hand, is a tactical choice made by the squad leader which they have a choice to use or not.  Spawn BEACON camping is a tactic to make them stop using the beacon.  If I am defending my titan, I am not going to just let you have a spawn point there to be safe.  Then how far do you have to be from the beacon before I can shoot you? Is it homebase like a game of tag?  Can you sit on your beacon and snipe there and not be able to be shot?  No, I hate spawncamping as much as the next player, but raping their spawn beacon is a valid tactic, since it is the squad leader that put it there in the first place.

I would camp it for a little while for a few easy kills then destroy it when i've had enough. Nothing wrong with spawn beacon camping as far as i'm concerned. It's not hard to warn your squad if the beacon is being camped.

LOL, I got 20 kills once from just killing a squad that wouldn't stop spawning on their squad beacon. Transport whoring is fun too. As they keep piling out of the transport they landed on your titan, blast them all in the back of the head.

Spawning on the beacon is always your choice, if you spawn on it, and get raped over and over, then its your fault. Spawn on the other bases. At least you have somewhere else to spawn, unlike when your getting camped with 1 flag left.

If I were to play the game again, then I would probably rape one untill they stop spawning on it and then destroy it, if they keep spawning, ah well easy points eh?

QTE.

The fact is that the spawn beacon is basically a stationary squad leader spawn point. It replaces the SL and is a good tactic to use. If the SL puts it down in a bad place then it is going to get raped or destroyed. If it is getting raped then either spawn at it and kick ass, or dont spawn at it. If you stop spawning at it then the enemy guys are going to get bored of waiting and will destroy it anyway.

Not being able to spawn camp a spawn beacon is basically saying that you are not allowed to kill people spawning on a squad leader.

You also take a risk camping a beacon instead of destroying it. In the worst scenario you might ruin the whole round for your team by doing so.

It is the squad leaders job to place there becon where it is safe to spawn.  Example: putting your becon on or next to the outer wall on Camp Gibraltar is playing Russian Roulet with your spawning squadies.

The squad leader should be able to remotly destroy his becon if it becomes unsafe.

spawn beacon camping is fun, as well as camping the transport. if they can't figure out that spawning on the beacon will get them killed, they need to get raped anyway.
on a different note, it's fairly easy for the transport, just stand in the back, underneath the rear wing, where no one can see you. it usually takes them awhile to catch on.

I did the same on that map with the long wall. Just went support and put turret down and got about 20 kills from a squad podding in. they killed me once so i got a jeep and just went turret in that

hmmm, spawn bacon.... I usually shoot the spawning squad once and then destroy the beacon because the risk getting killed is higher when they know I'm waiting there lol (flanking knifers from other spawn maybe?)

I usually spare them, let them run around for a bit, and then kill them...just so they know that I could've just outright killed them, but instead chose to give them a fighting chance and still killed them. That kind of behavior instills fear into my opponents, because they know that I can purposefully give them an advantage and still win every time.

Have you been hanging around with Nyte or something?

When I played 2142 it depended on the situation, if we were in dire need of flags then I'll just destroy it and haul to a flag.

If however things are about even and they insist on spawning on the beacon continuously they deserve to be raped to high hell.

Does anyone have a bag with him, I think I am going to throw up.

If you are to stupid to switch spawn point, than you don't deserve to spawn at all.

I play the game for fun. Killing easy targets at their spawn point is not fun to me. At least when I let them run around for a bit I get the thrill of the hunt.

yes, i don't rape them myself i just destroy the beacon, and if i'm on the recieving end of the raping i spawn somewhere else and try and take out the raper and beacon (i find tanks and tank sniping tactics effective at this ;-))

In my opinion this is an obvious yes. Spawn beacon placement is an important thing and if a squad leader places their beacon poorly then of course his squad should get chewed up when they drop in. They make those beacons easy to see coming in for a reason (balance issues, I'm sure). If the squad can't defend their drop zone then yes they should get nailed at their beacon.

Really, the problem some might have with this is due to frustration from being spawn-camped. I'd say that frustration is the result of effective tactics by the other team; so effective that it dramatically reduces the ability of their opponent to respond, thus the frustration. How to avoid the frustration? Don't let yourself be put in that situation. Tell your squad leader to place beacons better...join another squad...don't allow your spawn points to be compromised...or spawn somewhere else!
