Hey guys,

I know this isn't exactly the right forum for MP3 players, but I've searched the web and can't find a solution to my problem (but I did find other people looking for solutions similar problems).

Anyway, my GF was putting songs on her iRiver T30 when the cord got knocked out. Now when you turn it on it says "File Check Error". Tried reformatting but still no joy. Before the problem started her laptop would recognise it as an iRiver, but now it only recognises it as a removable drive.

We think it's rooted, but I thought I'd consult the eternal wisdom of the BF2S Tech Forums Trolls before we go spending another $50.

Did you reformat the player through your computer connection or through the player itself?

it might be toast. send it back to manufacturer to get them to fix it, or get a new one.

Can you access menus?

Try: Settings > Advanced > Format

Details are on page 62 of your user manual. Try that and see if it works afterwords.
