Need some advice for it, can anyone tell me what are the things to look out for? I dont want vista as my OS too.

If you're not going for mobility don't bother with a laptop. otherwise go for it.
it'll be totaly expencive to upgrade though, and with Vista out, in a year or so the market will be flooded with quad core stuff.

if i was to get a gaming laptop i'd get one with the full keyboard (my friend had one was better than usual laptops at flying since it had a numpad 0)
but since i'm not i'll stick with my box

Hmm, at least a laptop that can support BF2, with med graphics, i dont mind playing low and FPS games like Cs1.6.
go to a local computer store and see if they do custom laptops...
