You can say that this tank is the best or that tank is the best or even that it matters on air power, but when it comes down to it, it'll be numbers. Who has the most is vital. I believe Germany made some 9,000 Panzars and Tigers in WWII, the USA made some 90,000 Shermans. The Soviet Union made a ton of tanks, but they also had sloped angle armor a huge improvement over the previous armors.
The new Russian MBT is the T-94/95. Russian military paranoia means that the security is insane on these vehicles. You really don't want to see a head to head "compitetion" of these MBTs anyway. That means a large scale, professional and well trained armed forces facing off. The training and combined arms would be the key. But truthfully I never want to see that war come to bear. Europe splitting again would be bad and leave the entire West vunerable. West vs East would be horrible because of all the different climates, logistics, politics, etc. Russia vs anyone, the massive onslaught of pride of the people for their homeland vs who ever they fight, I'm sorry to see these MBT face off would mean a very very bad war.
