Hi Folks. I am not an expert on these things so figured I would ask people who know their stuff. I am looking at getting the following system that I hope will be good for video editing for some time to come and possibly enable me to run BF2 at higher specs than I do now (I run everything on low). Here is the system:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 CPU
P5B-E Asus MoBo
4Gb DDR-2 RAM (I know 4Gb is good, is DDR-2 any good?)
8800GTS 320Mb Graphics Card (does brand matrter, or are they much of a muchness?)
LG Lightscribe DVD burner
750Gb 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive
400Gb 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive (I want 2 hard drives, one for me, one for the missus, guess who gets the big one? lol)
LG 1970 HR monitor
550w power supply
3 fans on it and the usual windows Vista home premium, mouse, keyboard junk

These are the items the salesperson said would be good, are they rights? Should I ask for any other specs within those items to ensure it will be good?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

DDR-2 is Good. But what is the cas latency of the ram.

Also the power supply maters you want something that has 30 amps DC +12v

Oh any cas <3 is good you may also look and buying it on Newegg and puting it together yourself.

It is very frustrating seeing how cheap stuff is overseas compared to here. I'm just a little nervous about importing something like this, whereas here at least I can knock their door down if it goes to custard.

meh. just import yourself to the US.

not much bigger, 600ish-650 and you'll set set for power.

also, i think you might want to get quotes from other companies, because even where you are, that seems ridiculously overpriced.

I will. Thanks for that. And to all you others above. I will +1 each of you as karma becomes available.
