I know, this has been done before, but I never got a straight answer at all...

ARE the SF service ribbons commented out or not??? if so why would they do that? Does ANYONE have them at all? Whats the deal with the SF service ribbons? I'm well over 5 hours SAS, have played and won every SAS map many times.

Please don't speculate, someone has to KNOW what the deal is?

They're commented out untill or unless ea releases a patch to over write it. The armour and hele ones are obtainable as i have received them, and i can only assume the same for the crew service, hope this helps.

any idea as to WHY they would do that, or is it just yet another ploy to encourage people to dowload and use whatever patch they release next. While I never jump all over the publishers like everyone else does, because lets face it it their product and if I really don't like it I shouldn't play, some of the things they do are silly.

example, it is OBVIOUS that the hour requirements for the SF medals are outrageous. people say 'they'll just release a patch reducing requirements like last time.' but isn't that kind of the point??? shouldn't they have LEARNED from last time??? ha.

THe Helo, Crew Service, Armor and of all things, the Aviator Ribbon (with no planes in the pack...lol) are the only ones obtainable. I have all three of the REALLY obtainable ones, but haven't checked to see if you can get the SF aviator ribbon flying a plane in vanilla BF2, but I doubt it.

I have found that you can't get the SF Avaitor Ribbon in just vanilla BF2...I got 44 kills trying though!

I was wondering if it could go the other way though - for example, I need both the BF2 & SF Helicopter ribbons. Does anyone know if I can get both in a single SF game?

--> first 19 kills (= first ribbon) + 3 more kills = 22 kills total (= second ribbon) <--

Or do I have to get 19 kills in vanilla BF2 for the one , then 22 kills in a new SF game for the other?

pretty sure you can get regular BF ribbons in SF, sometimes the server doesn't recognize my rank and I end up getting basic badges all over again, both the BF and SF ones, though I can't personally confirm this with the ribbons.

Yes you can, I got my air defense ribbon a couple days ago playing Ghost Town.

As for the awards that are commented out, the general consensus is that EA wants to track how much the average person is playing the expansion so that they can determine reasonable time requirements for the awards. I don't think there's anything official to back it up, but it sounds reasonable to me.
