I find it immensely hard to fly in planes using a mouse and keyboard, so I'm thinking about pulling out my old Sidewinder Freestyle.
It's not really a joystick - It's a gamepad with a directional cross, two triggers, several buttons, a speed control scroller and the option of tilting the pad to control the plane.  It worked nicely for Combat Flight Simulator 2 at the time, and I'm wondering if:
1. It's compatible with BF2.
2. If it'll improve my flying.

If it does work, it'll be good to be able to keep flying in an upward loop without having to move my mouse to the bottom of the mousepad when I reach the top.

If you have it already why would you even ask? just plug it in and try...

It needs to be plugged in before you start BF2, and you need to go into the options and assign controls to all the different buttons, but after doing that I would think it would work.
