I think a lot of people forget the enemy kit on the floor can be pick up.  Unless there is no enemy defend their titan.  When you are running out ammo, try to pick up enemy kit that you kill them.  If you kill an support,
1. pick up his kit
2. drop the ammo box
3. then pick up back you Recon kit and stand there to wait due you are reload.
4. by the time, the one that you kill may come back to you or go to defend the next component, get ready.

If you kill an Engineer or Recon, you can use their weapon, Pilum or RDX. and no need to pick up back you own kit.
Even the enemy may be Assault, you can still use the primary gun.

The way I get my 'Problem Solver Pin' and 'Titan Destruction Achievement Badge':
1. Play a server w/ 8 and no more than 10, so there's less chance other get to components or core before you
2. I am Recon w/ Lambert, RDX and Mine, 2 enemy support protect their titan, no one on my term attack
3. peer through corner, use Lambert kill 2 support and their Sentry Gun,
4. use RDX to destroy component 1, go to component 2 , place mine and destroy component 2
5. by that time, 2 support running to me, one kill by mine, and other kill by my Lambert.
6. pick up their support kit, now I have Sentry gun and IPS shield
7. place Sentry at component 4 facing inside, drop ammo box, hold left mouse button and throw Grenade,
8. 6 to 7 Grenade will destroy component
9. by hear my Sentry Gun fire, you know enemy coming, throw Grenade to hallway to kill them
10. do the same on component 4, that 2 support still have no idea how to get to me, they must be rookie
11. go to Core, set up Sentry Gun and face inside door.
12. drop the ammo box near you and keep throw Grenade to core
13. it take more than 15 Grenades, I lose count, to destroy the Core, but the Sentry Gun will slow down enemy to get to you.

It is not easy and you need some luck but it can be done by only 1 person on his own.  You do need different strategic to earn your award on how your enemy defend their titan.
