American Footballers and regular Footballers are all just pampered girls.
Steriod use is not a test of manliness.
For tough sportsmen see Rugby.

The way i see it AF is better than "soccer" in my own opinion.
But they are both totally different games and rules so really compare AF to football to rugby. They are all different and appeal to people for different reasons.
I love AF and dislike football/soccer unless i am playing or watching a world cup game otherwise i'm not interested.
AF has alot more tactics too it.Rugby has alot more flow to it.
Soccer is just plain fast pace and about stamina to last 45mins per half.

American Football is more "MANLY" than Soccer; Who am I to argue?

Dam it wrong sport but i found one...

Even the ball boys in real Football have a reputation not just the fans and some of the players.
defenently not as much contact.. but takes alot more skill its a work of art
and the idea that a team might only score 1 goal in the whole game leads to a big celebration ... builds up and then SSCOOREE

Does anyone realize its alright to enjoy Football, Futbol (Soccer), and Rugby all at the same time???? I do!

soccer sucks, i'd rather play rock, paper, scissors. American football is awesome as is rugby.
I can tolerate peoples opinions here on which sport they prefer but look up "most popular sport in the world" etc you will find it's that game you call "Soccer".hate&discontent wrote:

I prefer Football (soccer) to American Football but I'm not nieve enough to suggest such a popular sport (99% of it in usa) sucks.
I'm not sure where in the list you'd find rock, paper and scissors but it'll be below Soccer and American Football.
Theres only a few countries in the world where Soccer hasn't succeded, yours, USA, thats fine but theres only the one where American Football has succeded, again yours, USA. This in itself is proof that Soccer has the upper hand in popularity and I can never see it changing.
Sorry to disrail and I fully respect your opinion that you don't like Soccer but to say it sucks, your wrong, it's too popular.
OMG RUGBY and FOOTBAL FTW
btw - football = soccer stupid retards. FOOT + BALL = FOOTBALL

Clearly no understanding of the beautiful game whatsoever. The fact that its such a simple game makes tactics VERY complicated, and difficult to understand. AF is made to be very much an "on paper" game, and therefore tactics are very easy to play with.{uscm}Jyden wrote:

To understand formations, strategies and gameplay in football a great deal of study of classic games and players is necessary, and a good team can change on the fly, switching from defensive to flanking to central attacking play as required.
Mourinho at Chelsea and Scolari the Brazilian know what they're doing.....
Well put, I can recognize that soccer is a good sport, but I get less enjoyment from watching it than I get from American Football because I understand the rules much better. Understanding the sport generally leads to greater appreciation because you can then appreciate all of the subtle nuances of the game. It also helps that I am surrounded with people who also love AM football.1927 wrote:

This thread devolving into an "America vs. the world" argument in three, two, one...
But seriously, it's ridiculous to say that American football is more manly than rest-of-the-world football, or that either sport is better than the other. The guys who play these sports are more athletic than any of us will ever be, so it's safe to say we shouldn't criticize their manliness Watch the game you like, respect the fact that people in other countries have different interests (which are not "better" or "worse" than yours), and we'll all be okay.
