Is it forbidden to switch seats in a helicopter???
Total: 0 |
Lol...i always switch seat to TV-guide...why the f*ck else is it in the game??? then they shouldnt have build it that way...better switching seats than getting killed because of n00bs who dont even try to shoot a missile
It is not forbidden. (I voted yes tho')
It is EXACTLY as lame as bunny hopping and dolphin diving.
Not forbidden but frowned upon and often a kickable offense.
Only time I do it is if I can not find a gunner and I always try to get a gunner no matter how noobie he may be.

i got banned from some server for doing it on SF, the reason people kick for it is because when a jet or stinger has u locked and u switch seats, it breaks the lock...gay reason
just a server rule
i have been kicked from wake for driving over the admin while he was standing on the bridge between north vill and north base. his excuse was no killing the admin while he is kicking someone

No way that is the way to get all the kills, and if you die it is no one elses fault but yours.
I usually gun and would prefer a competant pilot over soloing.... but if that situation doesn't present itself I will solo. It helps you to become a better pilot, i know that.
So its not wrong nor should it be forbidden.

meh I think when there are people who want to fly/gun whatever, noob or pro let them, soloing is absolutly lame when there are other people around you...
people want time on helos if their noob form up a squad and tell em how to shoot, works perfectly well most of the times however not allways and if you're such a pro helo dude the only thing you cant do what a gunner can from the pilot seat if mowing down infantry, you can take down tanks apcs jeeps boats copters hell you can even shoot down jets with pilot missiles as well
if however the server is empty or simply no one wants to gun for you go ahead and solo someone mentioned you cant change seats in reality, well you can fly from the gunner seat in reality aswell as you can fix heat shots with defibrilator in reality so thats not realy a factor

Frowned upon by who? You? Anyone with a decent sense of logic would rather have one good guy in the chopper than 2 nobos, or a good pilot and a noob gunner. It's not lame, it's not realistic, and it's a great part of the BF2 game. As sarge said, anyone complaining about soloing, is looking for an excuse for their death.lynxlyran wrote:

Bunny hopping and dolphin diving are used to exploit the physics of the game, making it harder to hit you. A solo chopper is easier to hit, because when they shoot, they aren't controlling the chopper anymore. In EVERY sense, being solo is a disadvantage, give it up. If a dude owns you and your buddy solo, he's better than you. He's not cheating, exploiting, nor does he have ANY sort of advantage.

FFS... if they nerf soloing...
It is not forbidden, nor should it be.
BTW, if bunny hopping and dolphin diving irritate you, why are you even posting here?
Don't like jumping? Go play scrabble or tetris. There is no jumping in those games.
(*EDIT : The shot in my sig was solo... And i got the jet.... So )

Once again... WHY? BECAUSE YOU CAN'T DO IT!lynxlyran wrote:

A good heli crew>solo
i hardly solo now i prefer someone gun for me, i used to solo before but it's as entertaining as flying for a good gunner

I prefer flying alone. But if someone gets in I'll just switch to gunner before they get in.(I know points whore lol) But I would never stay there shouting jump out waiting for some jet/ heli/ humvee/ m95/ AT/ Tank/ etc to pwn us while we're undefendable on the ground. That's just a pointless waste of time and tickets.

EA should add in the upcoming patch this new feature:
If you are alone in the chopper you could actually gun and fly at the same time.
By right clicking as a pilot you would switch to TV mode, and while flying you would activate the machine gun aiming by holding down Left Ctrl for example.
MAN THAT WOULD BE SWEET!!!!!

50% of pilots are useless, don't point you at aa, ignore chopper spotted, don't evade tv's and some even try to cap flags sometimes.
In the rare event that you get a good pilot, yes, you will have a huge advantage but soloing means you have 100% control over the helicopter.
Your inability to think about what I said seriously scares me. How can you actually consider that a valid arguement? Of course your advantage if you're flying with mr. X the nub is going to go away, but a solo pilot has no advantages over a chopper CREW.ssonrats wrote:

Well, actually, there is one which is that a solo pilot cannot go wrong in communications, but towards the higher end of the learning curve this goes away, which is where solo'ing lies anyway.
they did fix that actually.. 1.3 if I remember correctly..evo.mumbles wrote:
No its not, but seeing as DICE will never fix AA to make it lock on to the helicopter once you've switched seats it should be. Fix that and I don't care.
That is correct, and has increased my deaths a lot, one of the things you need a good pilot for...Col.Vind wrote:

If you know where it comes from there are no problems, but when you have to spot him first you really need a pilot to do it fast enough..
actualy that would fix quite a few things... you would be a hovering dead in the air target which would make it less atractiv and realy a secondary not a primary option, and it would fix all remaining aa missile bugsUbersturmbannfuhrer wrote:

I prefer to solo unless I know the guy flying/gunning is good. Flying with a crap pilot/gunner is just a waste of time. Also A LOT of 2man teams cant cope with a good solo pilot.
I say switch all you want. If you can't handle it, don't get into a helocopter. Simple.
I thought for that reason it was technically against the ROE?ChevyLee86 wrote:

It used to bother me alot more....something about it is rather annoying....but I think logically you have to realize the person is at a disadvantage. So my only two problems with it is the lock (pretty minor) and the selfishness.
If its just some pub server don't be a bitch. You get nothing for winning, sure its fun to do well but people have to practice too. Instead of getting mad try to teach the newb gunner or give them tips. The chopper is not yours, don't be an asshole, it doesn't matter that "you can make more of a contribution to the game" if your ruining other peoples fun on purpous. Its just a video game, winning isn't everything.
it simply sucks when the pilot flips over the copter to crash it at low altitude so you got no chance of straightning it up just so you die so he can solo with next copter, then he descides to take the plane instead
I used to switch seats while playing on the U.S. side in BFV during the "Operation Flaming Dart" map.
Man that used to piss off my co-worker...I could here him pissing & moaning thru the wall as I shot his ass down with the heat seaking missile "Oh, that's B.S....Come on!" I'd just sit there & laugh to near tears .

People who say yes are retarded
If you cannot find a gunner = no
If the only gunner sucks and keeps getting you killed = no
If you just want the chopper for yourself and your being a selfish prick = yes
