Which mod is better? Been thinking about downloading one of them. Right now, I'm leaning towards Porject Reality, but PoE looks good too.

What are your thoughts?

Also, are there any ranked servers for those mods?

They're free, download them both and decide for yourself.

I like POE more, but the problem is that the only server in the US that ever gets populated has a stupid "No bunnyhopping" rule.

I think I saw somewhere that one of the mod teams is working on a stats system.  I think it was Project Reality but I can't remember for sure.  It also depends on weather the server running the mod will send the data to the PR guys to track the stats.  If you go with the PR mod then make sure you read the guide since the game works alot different, as far as kit selection, vehicles and special kits among other things.
The PR wiki or guide can be found here http://prguide.realitymod.com/index.php … User_Guide

I would suggest downloading them both and deciding on your own which you like better.  Unless your hurting for hard drive space then I would just keep them both.

Once I downloaded Project Reality, I deleted POE with no regrets. POE isn't bad and they put a lot of work into it but it seems like a very Euro-centric mod; there are hardly ever any American servers running. And PR provides a bigger departure from vanilla BF2, I think.

I'd choose PoE over PR, though they are both great mods and I suggest trying them

Thanks.  I haven't played PR .5 or whatever yet but do have it installed and ready to play.  Where can I go check my stats? A link will earn you Karma.

Edit sorry I didn't read which mod you said.  I do have POE2 also and I have played it some. A link would still be appreciated.

Edit 2 Never mind the link I already found it. http://poestats.com/

I haven't gotten PR, but I really like PoE2. The main problem with PoE2 is that the maps are huge and you cannot attack UCBs, so it can be very boring very easily. The only populated server in PoE2 is in Germany but I good on it sometimes and hardly notice my 180 ping.

its not hard to have both....they are big files, but just start the download before you goto sleep.

Personally I find PR to make a bigger change in game play. PoE is good, and adds some cool stuff....but it still feels pretty much the same.

Between the accurace and damage of the weapons, and the cleaned up screen it just makes for a better experiance.

If you do get PR PLEASE spend some time looking around www.realitymod.com reading the guides and watching the videos. gameplay I guess is a little more complex in that you need kits to operate vehichles, choppers have to warm up, ect...

PoE2 is a great mod and I enjoyed playing it a bit. But for me, PR beats it. The gameplay of PR is drastically different from both BF2 and PoE2, which is quite refreshing.

Yeah, I think I'll download PR. If I get bored of it, I'll get PoE2.

Thanks for the input guys.

POE2 has fun maps, new weapons, new vehicles, and new armor.  PR has iron sights, some new maps, and you have to ask permission to use certain kits.   I'll take POE2.

PR has improved accuracy, a real sense of realism no nade spammers, smacktards, READY MADE JIHAD JEEPS ON Al BASRAH right click in the truck with the 2,000 Lb bomb on the back .

BTW definetly check out extraction mode on al basrah, on the insurgents side there are a load of jeeps and cars with c4 which can be blown from inside the vehicle by rightclicking also left click for the victory music of the insurgents from Special Forces.

If I want realism I play GRAW, when I want fun gameplay with a touch of realism, I play the battlefield series.  Found some real jerks in PR as a player new to PR, so I play 2142 instead.  Personally, I don't enjoy being taken to task for not memorizing every nuance of the changes from vanilla to PR in my first round.

I hated GRAW. Played it for the Xbox and the AI sucked.

Told my men to move, but they got stuck on this wall, and then they would continue to follow me, it was stupid.

Project Reality.

It's very different than Regular BF2, but once you get the hang of it, it's simply amazing.  As of right now, I'm seriously thinking of never playing a ranked game of BF2 ever again.
