I DONT. This gets me upset to no end, I hate it when i'm in a tank and about to get killed, i usually turn the tank away from the enemy and try to bail out, but you know what? I bail out on the side of my aggressors...DOn't you flippin' HATE THAT? And you look so damn dumb also...I bail out, thinkin im on the side i wanted to get out of but i'm not, so i turn around and try to run, but i just run right at my tank thats about to blow, and then my body goes limp flying through the air.

Don't you love pulling up somewhere in a boat and getting out, but getting out on the opposite side you landed on, then havin to swim around your boat, or in the likely event...Getting killed by your slow moving boat? Maybe getting shot because you have to swim around a boat that just popped up on everybody's map? Great game this is sometimes....

I've been trying to pay more attention to where I will exit a vehicle.  It seems to always be on the left, so I set that side up so if I need to bail and get cover I have a (slight) chance.

Seemed to work well tonight.

Amen to that you are not alone on that whole fubar exit scenario. If anybody has figured out the exit where you need to command please let me know.

That RIB boat thingy nuts me to no end, it's even worse close to a dock with railing on the side it like a nonstop Benny Hill sequence of in the boat, out the boat, in the boat, out the boat, trying to get on the shore.

And if you make it on shore and it's steep you do the half in half out constipated walk until you can find a low enough slope. Fuck that's irritating. Or.... the RIB slides back onto you and puts you out of your misery.

If you enter from left you will exit from left. If you entered from right you will exit from right.
There is no front or back exit so it matters if you entered from front-left or front-right (back-left or back-right).

In the case of a Tank or APC, you will always exit from the left (this is my personal experience and test).

In a Transport, you will exit the side you're seated. In the case you're in a turret in a transport, you exit on the left as well. You also bail on the left if you're in a center seat(say the 50. cal in the DPV)

Ya I didn't know that you always exit out of the side you got in on. I'll have to keep that in mind. But still sometimes i'll find myself gettin killed either way.

I'll have to remember (and any of you guys also) to turn the tank/apc to an angle so your on the safe side from fire/enemy tank shell. Also I thought of this idea, smoke screen right before you get blown up. Turn, smoke screen, bail! Then run and hide

just went to test this lot on wake

you dont exit on the side you get in and you dont always exit on the left from drivers seats either, especially if you are near a wall or other obstacle.  Center gun on the jeep exited on the right so unless anyones got a better idea, all we can say is 'it varies'

Haha Yep I feel your pain. Most of the time you leave on the left side, except if there is a wall close, but when you are in a fight, you usually jump out on the wrong side.

I'm not absolutely sure. but u "may" exit the gunner's seat in the direction you have the gun pointed. seems like i had to do that. i may be wrong tho.

Hmmm....I'll need to test the gunner ones again. Also keep in mind that I did this in a open area, so the effect of walls arent examined. Once I get my lazy ass onto imageshack or something, I'll get some screenies.

More tests and conclusions to come later on.

Previous tests done in open areas.

Ok more results: Any object big enough to be blocking your exit on the proper side, and is within ONE meter of your vehicle (be it a wall, car or doodad (doodads are little things added to the map, ie: burning cars)) will send you to the other side.

Anytime you exit a moving vehicle, you exit the proper side regardless of obstacles (which is why you often get crushed into walls)

RIBs exits are all on the left apart from the two seats on the right. The wall effect applies. Odd effect: if an object is blocking your exit, you may end up bailing into the RIB.

More to come on Jets and Choppers

Thanks for your contribution man, but I don't think you thought this one through...Because I've bailed on the right side of armor and apcs, humvees, and vodniks, buggies etc...Well I can't be sure, it would be obviously the right choice to get out on the left, but we all know what EA/Dice thinks about obviousness in a video game....

I just got home tonight, from being away on the weekend, I will test a few of this out myself, but I think what we SHOULD do is all take screen shots when we are under fire and about to get blow up as we bail out...I think what the majority of the screen shots will have in it...Our bodies flopping around in the air from a tank explosion!

QFT

Ya man, like, if i was like you know in a humvee and getting shot at from the right side of the street by gansta muslim thugsz, i would SO hop over to the passenger seat and wave at em to "Just hold on, i gotta get out!" While i push the door unlock button up, and crawl outta the passengers side of the car.

"Ok NOW you can shoot me!"

elite.mafia wrote:

Another QFT, I think myself and two guys are gonna win back a game when we are flying around in the Mini Heli (Armored Fury) we fly over an enemy flag across the other side of the map, and us two passengers are like "YA! Lets DO THIS YA! GO GO GO!" ....... *presses e*

Which I have now learned stands for "Eject (your life)" So much for getting that flag now.
