Ok, I got a new hard drive, and I want it to run with the one I have right now. I was told to just place the new hard drive where it's supposed to go, hook up a few plugs, and it should work. However, I can't get my computer to read the new hard drive. Anyone know how to fix this?

Here's the hard drive I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6822144183

Have you tried formatting your new drive? Should read fine if its formatted.

check the jumper on the back of the drive, if you existing driver is explicitly set to master, then you will want to set the new one to slave. If you current drive is set to cable select, ensure the new drive is also set to cable select.

When you say computer, you mean bios or in windows? If in window, right click on my computer, manage, disk management.

Just change the jumpers on the back.
