I'll put this as gently as possible. AM2 is a waste of money. Not much performance benefit over Socket 939. If you want performance go with a Core2Duo or wait until AMD's K10.

Theres a huge benifit over 939, its the upgradability, it seems AMD has given up on the 939'ers. Actually, what i think it is is this:
All the 939'ers will pay an outragious price for a 2.6ghz 939 because thats the best amd makes for 939, when really for a tad more they can buy a new am2 mobo and a 2.6 (for over $100 less then the 939)

And AMD is awesome, newegg had a combo the other day, it was the sickest shit ever!!! a dual-cpu mobo and 2 (YES!!! 2!!!) 3.0ghz dual core AMD's. It was so sick, that wouldve been 10 times better then the Intel quad core... Anyways not to get off topic. Your rig looks ok.

but if you want AMD its fine...

Anyway, most people don't' want to spend/save a lot of money. I would rather reuse the motherboard I have, and get a new processor. Then later on, by a new motherboard and processor, that's what I do.
I still have a S939, so whenever I save enough money, I might switch to Intel. I just don't like how they don't have the pins on the chip... Weird.
