Hallo can anyone suggest a good gaming desktop from an OEM.  I checked the sites and to tell you guys the truth I dunno really what would be best all I do is select what costs the most lol!!!!!!

I like the Dell XPS 710 H2C my buddy said the waranty overclocked quad core intel makes it worth the cash but another (Bell whos a member on here) one said it uses slow(ish) RAM and an older motherboard.  I know the build your own argument but in one phrase a self build is not an option to me unfortunetly.  Plus I have had two bad experiences with self builds in the past.  Price?  ummmm well I know the prices of high end can go high and its not really that much of an issue, although dont go crazy and send links of $10,000 machines lol.  I dont mind paying for the best though

u said it urself u dont know what kinda mobo/ram shit theyll use, so ur best bet is to get the shit u want off newegg or whatever and then if u REALLY cant build it (its so simple, how can u fuck it up?) take it to a local PC shop and have em put it together for u. that might cost $100 or something, but what i did was put mine together, then brought it to my pc shop and had them take a look at it, make sure everything looked good (it did) and then boot it up, make sure u dont fry anything off the start, and ur done!

ull get so much more for ur money this way, and its more fun!!!

Waranty has been a life saver to be honest.  The experiences I've had with self builds are like parts not being delivered on time or come damaged and must be re sent and not gettting replacements for weeks and weeks (basically I went two months without a gaming computer ) and only having my self to blame for when it booted up I was getting blue screens and hardware failures (overheating CPU apparantly).

To be honest I prefer having a pre built system arrive to me the day its meant to and if something is the matter with it there problem and they should put it right instead of me chasing suppliers around for parts get enough of that at work thanks alot!

That dell got the editors choice on CNet (heres a youtube link)

So I take it there full of shit?

And I like the liquid cooling

Ok firstly to the person that said alienware are a complete waste of money, i laugh out loud at you..... my alienware pc is the top of the range everything highest specs i run 2 19 inch widescreen monotors as well and also have them networked to my alienware lap top and i have had not 1 problem with it yet, Yes  i was also told that i could build a pc for half the price at same spec and yes i keep getting told but i work full time and have a family so i havent got the time to be messing around with building pcs, which i take my hat of  to you guys and gals that do build pcs as i prob would blow the street up if i tried.

Personally i would recommend alienware to you there customer service is great, they have ring a return service so if anything does go wrong with it they come and collect it fix it and send it back! and ther feeling of owning a big green machine with red blowing lights that scare my son lol is amazing. (kind of like owning a ferrari, you will never be able to drive it at its full ability but you OWN one lol.

If alienware is accessable where you life i would say go for it man, all my bf2 buddies  game with alienware machines and none of them have had any problem.

look at it like the logitech hype, around where i live if u dont have one of them g15 lcd keyboard things and a g5 mouse your a nub and slated. so you go with whatever pc you want.

Your biggest mistake was to put a topic about it on here where you will get young kids and immature adults commenting and talking down to you. any way good luck with you descision making and drop a post as what machine you do go for in the end.

cheers luke.

Stupid post above. Alienware overcharge people like crazy, they lock areas of their BIOS and look ugly.

You could build yourself a better system for the same price.

Like he said, he CANT build it himself! Listen.

If he's willing to spend the amount Alienware ask for then fine, its up to him.

Lol, yeah. If you wanna hear about Alienware's quality and support just MagikTrik, he'll tell ya all about it.

See if there's a shop nearby that will do a custom build for you. Or look at some other online builders like Falcon Northwest or VoodooPC.

to further leetkyle's argument.

Just ask Kmarion. He owns an alienware, and has had his share of problems. my friend has an alienware laptop, he's putting it on ebay because it's an overpriced hunk of junk and is going to be doing what he should have in the first place: building his own rig.

but if you must buy, follow marlboroman's link.

QFT, QFE!!!

My rigs>every alienware

Alienware is a good choice if you want to waste money, same with the other OEM gaming rigs imo. Dell had this good XPS series early last year, but I dont know atm.

Build one by yourself! Cheaper and better, otherwise ask you local dealer (but dont expect internets prices).

Alienware are good you know, everything is top quality.

I got my laptop from them a few months ago, and for the specs it runs pretty dam good.

I know that if I was't going to build my next computer myself, I would definately spend the money with Alienware again. People might say they are over priced, but for the warranty, the support, the parts, the legal software, the extras and the general coolness of an Alienware, they are well worth it.

www.ibuypower.com if you absolutely can't build one.

And to the guy that made a comment about Americans. Shut the fuck up. People are stupid everywhere, especially wherever you're from because you raise the bar so high don't you?

I think he's saying Americans are lazy.

Did you ever play with lego's as a youngster? If you can build a little house with lego's, then you can build a PC.

Don't let the delicate, complicated innards intimidate you - it's very straight forward and easy to put together.
