Problems with connecting to servers --- Failed to connect

So, I will be playing on a server, disconnect and try to connect to another and it will take me about 10 tries via connecting with IP, to connect. It just keeps coming back "Failed to connect to server" or whatever, then will finally work...

anyone have any ideas as to WHY?!?!?!??

What firewall are you running (if any) and, a lot of times, (this is the truth) if you run a firewall, then shut it off, windows will just block simple things by default, so the key here is to allow your program (like bf2) through your firewall while keeping it on.
