Sex.
Running, yo.
Begin to play sport when you're 5 years old, and don't stop until your body can't do it any more (around 50 or so, depending upon injuries, etc).
Running, right amount of sleep, proper diet. Diet meaning the food intake, not going on one. No one ever needs a diet, they just need to control what they eat. Remember, it can take up to an hour to burn 100 calories, but only 10 seconds to get it back. ;D
Running actually isn't very good exercise, it's pretty hard on the joints. For cardio there isn't much better than swimming.

Running/Jogging - Pretty good excercise. But like Flaming_Maniac has stated before me, it's pretty hard on the joints. I've ran for two years on a Cross Country Team, it was pretty damn fun (Trail Runs in particular), but after workouts on certain days, I was fatigued to hell and my knees were killing me. That's why you have ibuprofen though. If you ever decide to start up on running, get decent running shoes, no cheapie shoes. And get socks that won't rub too much (nylon I think is good, I forget) so you don't get blisters on your feet.
Swimming - Excellent. Very good cardio workout. Less painful than running plus the water resistance makes it a lot more challenging than running on flat ground. (Running up and down hills is different.)
Situps/Leg Overs/Bicycles/etc. - Work out your abs for that six pack.
Cycling - Another decent cardio workout. If it's on a stationary machine, gradually build up resistance. If it's an actual bicycle, try biking up hills. Now that is some hard shit.
Eat - Gotta have a good diet. Don't starve yourself, don't go on all protein diets, etc. That's just stupid IMO. Just don't overindulge yourself, and you should be fine. If you plan on doing a really strenuous workout, eat some carbs the day before the workout (ie Baked Potato/Pasta/etc.). After the workout, get some protein (Steak mmmm...).
But most importantly, don't force yourself to do things to try and get into shape. Even if everyone says "so and so" is better than another, if you don't like it, don't force yourself to keep doing it. Try something different. It's all about what you want. Mentality is as important as the excercise itself.

you are mistaken. true, swimming is the best exvercise as it works out almost everything, but running is indeed a great way to lose weight. joint stress is just the nature of the beast and with proper stretching and rotations before and after along with a moderate regimen, you could run all the way to fort bragg just like this........Flaming_Maniac wrote:

not for older people or people with bad knees. of course us younger ones will have no problem. running puts a lot of pressure on your ligaments and meniscus. but if you have stronger leg muscles then of course it will put less pressure on them.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

theit, how old are you and how are your knees and the rest of your body doing?
you dont gotta run every day. as long as you do cardio for at least 20 minutes daily youll be straight
Thats very kind of you to offer Sir, thank you very much, I shall be over just after you leave for work.ATG wrote:
