i have the brand new ati radion 1950 xtx video card which im enjoying but iv heard that the radion 1950 is not dx10 compatible, is this true? and if so doses it apply to the xtx version of the card?
The only DX10 cards on the market currently are the nVidia 8000 series.
Correct me if I'm wrong

i hope that ati will release a fix of something after i blew $500 CAN on the card
i think it's tough luck on that one... Most dx10 games will be compatible in dx9 though... at least for a little bit...
im still hoping that video card makers will release free software to allow dx10 compatibility
as am I... as am I...
its a hardware issue<SharpShot> wrote:

There will be a release so that you can play DX10 games, just not with full settings that a DX10 card would allow.
Ebay it.
Ouch, spending all that cash on a card and not being able to run on the best settings, I'd be pissed, send it back mateHeimdalX wrote:

the x1900's (x1950xtx's are just normal x1900xt's with better mem and a newer cooler) are not natively dx10 compatible. you can run dx10 software wise just as you can run dx9 from a geforce 4 series. you just wont be able to play games that need shader model 4.0 (which will need a long time until they are there)
how is he going to do that? its not faulty and even if it were he would get a new x1950xtx not his cash backBell wrote:

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
I've just got a x1950 pro, which I'm very happy with. I wouldn't worry about DX10 compatibility because by the time there are any games that require it, the rest of your computer will be so out of date you won't even meet minimum specs.
Says who? It depends on where he bought it. Ive sent hardware back loads of times and either got my money back or bought something else, if where u buy stuff from doesnt offer that I suggest shopping else where.max wrote:

In the UK at least, you get 14 days to send back anything and get your money back under the terms of the distance selling act.max wrote:

This is why you always do research before you buy hardware.
Yes, it's all hardware. There won't be any 'upgrade' to take your card from DX9 to DX10.
Get an ATI X2900XTX Crossfire - proven to beat the 8800GTX in SLI and the same price. just a beefier psu needed LOL.

UK DSR (Distance Selling Regulations) only allow for no fault returns up to 7 days, not 14. Anything after 7 and they can charge you restcking fees, complain about the packaging, mess with your consumer rights etc etcBertster7 wrote:
