I need help, for some reason, the intel program used to connect to my wireless network says its connected but the windows thing says there is an invalid ip address. IE shows page cannot be displayed. The systray also shows acquiring network address wtf?

Sounds like a security issue...have you got WEP or WPA turned on??

Yeah, i think i found what the root of the problem is, i turned on wep. So how do i manage to connect while having wep?

You need to know what the wep key is.....and enter it in the connection details bit on the taskbar ...bottom right

Well i entered it and connected and thats where the problem begins.

Then the key is wrong...............go to the router reset....usually got a button somewhere to hold down whilst powering up...........  use IE to browse to your router IP enter the Username and Pw ...go to security and reset the WEP .....the go to the connection bit on your LTop and enter the Hex code exactly as you did on the router....


The ip address is usually ..192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0

Username defaults usually to Admin

Password is usually Password or Admin

Linksys use linksys as a password.....
