I was wondering which you all thought was better and why?
I chose Nvidia SLi.
I chose SLi because i run it, and haven't tried crossfire.

Although I don't ever plan to go dual graphics cards, I have many friends that have SLI and are in love with it. Come to think of it... I don't know anyone with a crossfire setup.Dispos@ble_Hero wrote:

I recall this, having bought the voodoo5 ... I think 3dfx kinda did it to themselves but no taking directx seriously.Mad Ad wrote:
I still havnt forgiven Nvidia for railroading 3dfx off the market but my unbiassed opinon is that they have the upper hand in dual card hardware atm. I hope that changes soon.
My thing is I have no loyalty to a brand, rather, take which is better at the time. I never get this rooting mentality ... (all of) these companies only root for your dollars .. not you.=EXP= TMMTAKEN wrote:
I don't know why everyone is so hooked on Nvidia products.
It shocks me, even when ATi had better Image Quality, performance , price, and reliability.
People still went and chose Nvidia
Its shocking IMO.
At the moment SLi beats crossfire because the 8800 GTX Is very good
But very soon, R600 crossfire will beat 8800 GTX SLi but the power requirements might be a little high ( Only a guess )
Performance no, Price no and reliability that is just your openion along with image quality. Nvidia is very persistant in updating drivers untill recently. I see way more issues with ati than nvidia when it comes to card problems. Nvidia seems to release cards sooner than ati. Plus the r600 series is competing with video cards that have been out for almost 6 months now so no crap they are going to be better. I have never had a ati video card and theres no point for me to switch when i can ge an nvidia card to work properly within 10min. installing the card, update drivers and restarting.=EXP= TMMTAKEN wrote:

Wow look you're correct ... ATI Radeon X1950 XT CrossFire is faster than a single 8800GTX.NemeSiS-Factor wrote:

You can't comment on anything you have just said because you haven't owned both sides. Many sites I have visisted have said that Ati has had the best image quality for a long time up until now, but that might change with the R600. I haven't had problems with my Ati card, it was like you said,I have never had a ati video card and theres no point for me to switch when i can ge an nvidia card to work properly within 10min.
And with the comment about NVidia putting out their video card earlier just to be beaten by Ati's monster, well, that's their fault for not improving it until it was ready to compete.i can get an [Ati] card to work properly within 10min. installing the card, update drivers and restarting.
Sounded Sarcastic until I read the thing. I don't know why, but Nvidia card are pretty buggy with Source games.jsnipy wrote:

was nothing to do with the hardware (I had a 5500 too, awesome AA for the era), nvida launched a huge lawsuit on them and the legal charges broke their back. 3dfx ended up signing all the rights for everything over to nvidia in exchange for calling it quits and paying off all the staff and company debts.jsnipy wrote:
