I am in the process of making a little mini-mod for BF2142. Now here is my question: How can I increase the Baur's or any rifles zoom to whatever I want, say 2.5x?

Your best bet would probably be to go to:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\mods\bf2142\Objects

Open up Weapons_server and edit unl_har_rifle

I would imagine it is going to be alot easier to just mess with the zoom then to add a different scope.

Look for this line:
rem ---BeginComp:DefaultZoomComp ---

You can add different zoom factors, for instance, You can have it set to 3 different zoom levels that you can cycle through. Or how ever many you want/need.

Hope this helps.

:EDIT:
The path to the file you need to mod wont be in /mods/bf2142/objects it will be at /mods/your mod/objects
Wouldn't want to mess with the OG 2142 files!

No worries. I just recently got into modding BF2, stuff like adding Nuke warheads to Littlebird (too much fun on Wake Island) and giving pistols the force to knock tanks about 50 yards (or launch yourself way up in the air by shooting the ground).

Best advice I can toss you is, make sure you only edit one thing at a time, then test it. I had a few times where I would mod a few weapons/vehicles at a time and end up with a CTD. Then you have to go back and figure out what you did wrong.

Also, be careful adding weapons to soldier slots. If you have too many weapons in the same slot it will CTD every time.
