Vista 64bit problem!

Ok after my memory help thread, i decided to install vista 64bit. As soon it was installed everything went ok, but when the desktop came up it was lagg, i moved my mouse and ten seconds later it moved and i tried installing video drivers for 64bit, had the same prob with xp and it was fixed after new video drivers. i mean by pc should be blazing fast and not laggy. these are my specs:

cpu: c2d e6600
mobo: p5nsli
ram: 4gb ddr2 667
gfx: nvidia 7900gt/gto

no dude, i had 32bit and it ran like charm but 64 is very slow for somereason, worked fine on my dads laptop but why not my desktop, my specs are far more than specs that were recommended

Because maybe your computer is not 64 bit compatible or something. Why don't you stick with the 32 bit version?

While others are quick to shrug off vista I can assure you that if you have 4 gigs of good memory in 64 bit vista you should be moving pretty damn fast. I just ran 3dm 06 at stock speed and score 11k. Vista 64 is faster than any version of xp I have ran. It is closer to server 2003.

What was your performance score?

Not too rub it in but I am truly amazed at the speed and efficiency I am getting on 64 bit Vista. Every aspect of the OS is smoother than XP. Sure it looks good but that is only the surface .

Should not matter. Just make sure you are doing a clean install. No uprade.
