This happened while in Iraq. We were getting our mossion breif and this is what we were told ( as far as I know this is Army regs ) We were to be clearing houses. We could clear them anyway we say fit. So in other words I can throw a frag in the window and clear a room BUT in order to use Less-Than-Lethal force we needed to get a 05 or higher to approve its use. Apperantly it cost more for a flashbang than a frag.
huh
Sounds kinda back asswords to me, but what do I know, I havent been there.
It's pretty straight forward. They were authorized to use frag grenades to clear the houses, but needed authorization from an "05" (Not sure what that is, I'd think either Sergeant or Lt Colonel) to use flashbangs.reaper_654 wrote:

Since someone is bound to say it eventually...NADE SPAMMERS FTW
But seriously, that's retarded. "Let's frag the house full of civilians, we can all have a nice laugh about it afterward!" Come to think about it though, flashbangs would be more expensive, what with the chemical mixture necessary to create the sound and light and the measures to keep them from fragmenting. Frag grenades are really just explosive and metal.

It's better too be tried by a jury than to be carried by pall-bearers.
that is kind of wierd....hm. I GOT IT they know that some nubcakes will throw it in a group of teammates there!
nade spam time!!!!
I dont really know if frags are more expensive or not. 05 is a Lt. Colonel the bad part is we called a few times back to the FOB to get clearance for Less than Lethal even asked before we left but NOOp no can do... lol I think they are more worried about possible some one getting hit by one and running to the TV and saying MY EYES BURN I CANT HEAR MY TESTICLES HAVENT DROPPED. Dead men tell no tells
very true. but personally newscrews shouldnt be over there.Tawodeusti wrote:

Thats true but god forbid we dont have freedom of press....
There have been 'embeded' journalists in every war since WWI.
There has been but the news today feel they have to tell everything no matter the cost. hell i didnt know where i was half the time when i was over there but everyone back home knoew right where i was. Hell all the enemy has to do is watch CNN and they can tell you what we are going to do
True, true...
