I have to praise EA for MY BF and BF2,

while I have no doubt there are bugs effecting this game, guess who really hasn't seen ANY of them??? I'm convinced that your own machine has to have some effect on these bug issues I keep reading about, otherwise I really have no way to explain the hundreds of hours I've played without ever, ever seeing the infamous red name glitch or some of the other bugs people have talked about.

I rarely play the same servers over and over again, wandering aimlessly for variety and competitive games. I don't have a superpowered computer by any means, but its a clean system and BF is really one of the only games I have installed on it, which leads me to suspect that things like lag and game bugs, of which I rarely have any, are at least somehow effected by themachine the game is being played on.

Incidentally, like magic, my ridiculous loading times and my SF lag issues magically went away a day ago. tooth fairy?

Hehe. I'm actually pretty sure that some of the bugs are indeed machine specific. Some however are server specific. It's kind of odd actually. As for all your troubles going away...

actually its funny you say that about your lag and loading times being reduced.  i noticed that too.  i load into a map faster than ever before and i rarely ever get connection problems.  for a good while after i got SF, it seemed as though i was getting connection problems for about half the time i played.

Well, I live with three other people who all play bf2. We have all seen pretty much every odd bug there is and we are all on VERY different machines, different processors, different manufacturers, different hard drive configurations, different amounts of ram, different video cards, even different operating systems! I think it is rather silly to lay the blame on the machine of the individual user for a video game. Consider the fact that of all of the many computer games that I have played (let's list only the fps games for the sake of brevity; bf2, hl2, cs:s, rtcw, ut2004, q3, q2, q1, bf1942, hl1, cs, doom, duke nukem, etc.) battlefield 2 is the only one that has these sort of issues on such a wide scale.

sooo, then the game that EA sold me is better than the one they sold you? my CD was somehow purer??? I didnt consider what the guy above said, that a bunch are probably server specific also.

I'm not trying to argue, but I just haven't seen any of these bugs and I'm well over the 300 hour mark. thats a lot of hours, a lot of maps, and a lot of servers to have never seen them! I've come across a few hackers, but never these game glitches

You live with all those people, which means you share the same connection??? difrerent machines but I bet you play together often in the same server? I dunno, just thinking aloud. I' really no expert, but I stick by my theory. it just doesn't make sense that MY bf2 would work better than YOUR bf2, when I'm very certain we brought an identicle product home with us.

also, again, and again and again, if these issues are on such a wide scale... WHY HAVEN'T I SEEN THEM!?!?!

You must be the exception to the rule... But perhaps your machine is really similar to those that whoever is testing this stuff over at EA/DICE are testing on. Apparently EA/DICE decided it wasn't worth the time to try testing their game on various different hardware solutions? Yes, the software we run is the same, and yes our machines are different, however it is the responsibility of the maker of the game to make sure that their product works on my machine no matter what sort of configuration I may be running (within reason... granted if I install my ram upside-down they cannot be blamed.) Though, as I said before, BF2 is the only game with these sort of outstanding issues and it is clearly not only my machine that is experiencing them. I don't know how you got so lucky (perhaps you are having these glitches but are suppressing them because of your secret love of EA? ) but it sure seems like a vast majority of players do get them on a regular basis.

I don't disagree with anything you've said... though I'm not convinced the "vast majority" experience them. the vast majority of players in a "complain section" of a forum maybe, but then there is a reason they are in the forum to begin with.

My machine is really a piece of crap, but as I said I don't have any other games on it, I keep it clean, and run the game using a bare minimum graphics card.  I find it unusual that I haven't seen any of these things though, which was the whole point of my post. also, I have no secret love of EA, and you really need to blame the game developer anyway (which is DICE not EA).

This is the only game I play so I can't comment about other games, but I have yet to see this stuff. as I said I've seen one or two hackers (beyond doubt) but thats different from a bug.

Your main point is even if it is machine specific the game should be more adaptable to a wider variety of conditions and hardware setups... I'm surely not disagreeing with you on that.

Actually, most times the company that does the bug testing is the publisher, not the developer. So, in the joking context of your supposed suppression of these problems, my initial statement is entirely accurate.

well if thats the case, EA should really consider fixing the server bugs, and do small auto updates like steam
