as I'm in no mood to get beaten up for wearing my icemat siberia's in public, I'd like to invest in a set of in-ear headphones that are made of more than paper and plastic. (IE, the ones I got with my MP3 player).

so I'm looking for a proper set of headphones. I'm thinking about getting one of the kind that fit really deep into your ear so you hear the music better and other people don't. They've gotta have high sound quality, be robust (i've broken ~15 headphones in the past year) and be comfortable.

I'm willing to spend 35 euro's max, and please don't try the usual push the budget, they're darned miniature headphones, not the real thing. Less = good.

I recommend Sony Twin Turbos and one made by TDK.

The TT is the longest lasting set of earphones I've ever used, and are high quality. But they are expensive (They cost around $20-$25 in Aus)

The TDK ones seem to have the best quality sound I've ever heard in earphones (Rather than plastic or cotton coverings, they have latex ones that trap in more sound. Plus, they only cost $10 here) but they have to be put in a certain way to get the proper sound, and break very easily.

Ive used the twinturbo's before, good but not that good, and I've broken 4 of them to date.

Ill take a look at the TDK ones

I reccomend any of the basic sony earphones with the silicone cap, the ones where the drivers actually sit in your ear. Great noise cancelling, decent sound, good price, alot come with a container/holder.

Unless your'e listening to .wav or high sample rate mp3s, there is no point spending more than your budget.
no point.

V Moda Vibe's or Sennheiser CX 300 if you want in ear monitors.  both are very nice.  CX 300 for bass, Vibe's, for full range goodness.  CX 300 can be found on ebay for 25, make sure you get genuine though, check feedback.

I use a pair of earphones made by Philips. They were 30 bucks when I bought them and I'd say this was 3 months ago. For me, they work great, the wire may seem a little flimsy and looks easily broken, but I haven't yet. Worst I can say is a pair of Sonys that has a shorting issue. It would just die on you after a couple of months even though you take good care of them, took me two pairs to learn my lesson AND they cost 100 dollars a pair. I have the Triport by BOSE but have not opened the box, I bought them with my Philips, and so far, the Philips has not given me any reasons to open the other. So give it a shot if you want. I'll find the exact product as soon as I can.

Wait till xmas or ur bday and get big urself some booming chunky headphones. Bose On-Ear headphones are teh seks! And they just look so cool. I know when i see a someone with chunky headphones i think "U must love techno that much, ur a legend". Techno's the main reason i went for chunky's cos pumping bass lines always turn into fuzz with in ear headphones.

I currently own a set of strong in-ear sony ones. Amazing and very clear sound. Cost £19.99 I think now, which is around 35 euros.
