When u snipe (m95 or m24) do u wait for a target to walk or try to hit it while its running? i tend to hit it when it walks.
I hit them whenever I can. If he's running and I see he's going to find cover soon, sure I shoot him, and if i don't kill him I at least injure him a lot, (except when I miss of course.)
Hitting moving targets is challenging, but very rewarding, especially when you get a headshot.

well u got different ways of hitting people when he is running/walking.
type1: Enemy is moving horizontal in ur scope...just aim in front of him and wait untill u have ur aim on the chest and then pull the trigger....mostly its instantly kill because you hit Upper torso or head with an M95.
Type2: Enemy is moving Vertical in ur scope....this is tricky u have to guess where he is heading aim for that spot about 5 meters in front of him and wait untill he passes and then pull the trigger this will get him killed or injured very bad.
*advice* never follow the enemy with ur scope and try to kill him while ur moving with ur scope...this will cause a leak in ur accuracy, always wait untill the enemy passes ur scope. i case of victim standing still...well just kill the poor bastard.
i like type 1 the most...just funny to see him getting a full load in his face and 60 % of my victims where running into my personal M95 hellzone
Mostly its the best way to wait untill ur victim is standing still, firing at others , or mounted a veh/mg/tow/stinger.

nothing beats watching someone run full blast and then flail into the air when you disconnect his life from his body.
i just get in a apc.
I usually just wait a little bit for them to slow down or walk. It's much easier to hit them this way, and just takes a little patience... However, sometimes they'll be running around like going to a vehicle or something, so I just need to take the shot. Couple times I see enemies running to a tank and you have to think fast and just shoot.
The key thing is that you have to predict where the enemy will be in 1 second lets say. Then you place your crosshairs there and wait for them to be in your sights before you shoot. If you try and follow them you will definatelly miss. Due to ping though, you have to shoot slightly before they are actually dead on the crosshairs. This is because in reality, what you are seeing is a slightly delayed character moving, and by aiming and shooting ahead, you increase the chances of registering a hit.

I'll shoot them running or walking. I've gotten decent at being able to nail them while running. Like I said though, if you get a Dolphin Diver just pistol near him immediately switch to sniper and waste him on the next dive. I've gotten more running shots with the M95 then the M24 despite it the slightly less accuracy.
ill try and hit them whenever i can jumping, walking or standing still.
in real life its fun to hit the bunny hoppers of the real world on the hop......kangaroos!

most times i wait - but sometimes i cant - and i dont hit so often the moving target
what ever comes first before the enemy fading away, or running towards the back of a building.
pretty much what they said, also knowin the map and where they'll turn back up helps.
Skill comes with esperience. Take lag into account, angulation, running/walking speed, lead a bit, shoot off. I'm now beginning to hit running targets as well when sniping, and bunnyhoppers too. The real PITA is erratic running (frequent changes of direction and speed). With luck, I can even get headshots on them (1/10 or so, tho).
I do it all the time, it's easy.
Alpha as fuck.
Wow, you must be one of the True Elite Players©Nyte wrote:

i just wanted to add this to the battlefield 2 laws:
when u lead a target with your sniper he will change direction in the moment you pull the trigger.
happens a lot to me just like the commander having a constant artillery lock on me
and Nyte are you a member of the teamgod clan? you just have the same stupid "im on the inet and here i can be the greatest cause i suck in RL" attitude.

If they are running towards me i'll try and hit them, usually around the chest area. Only the dumb ones continue to run towards me. Then they are easy pickings.
If the enemy is just running around i'll try and wait till he slows down before taking a shot.
On an interesting note, I was at the north village on Wake and looking across the water to the other side of the island. I saw a little enemy figure running along the ridge so I tried my luck at a moving shot. I hit the guy, but didn't manage to kill him.

Well I have learned to snipe with both the AT rockets and the grenade-launchers . . .
(Rule #? Close only counts in horse-shoes and hand-grenades!) !
If I hit a running target with either of these 2 kits at significant distance = dead every time.
When using the sniper-kit, at distance, I sometimes do damage; a rare head-shot now & then = dead;
but I end up wasting my AMMO most of the time trying to hit running targets as I am alone. . .
So unless I think I can get a re-load - I try to be patient - and wait for the clean-shot.

Hitting moving targets is based on luck many times because of server side prediction as opposed to client side prediction.
If the target is moving slowly then its feasible, but a target sprinting left and right is just all luck. No skill involved.

Yes I hit them with a quick club over the head. No problemo.
Thats because you are the best sniper in the world and can peform headshots while looking away from the monitor..Nyte wrote:

In the two times that I've actually gone sniping for a few days I waited for a clear shot as I suck at predicting movement/height loss.
Can't be bothered to practice it so much.

For me, I'd have to say it depends on distance. Too close, and I can't get him moving correctly in my sights, so I go for a long pistol shot instead. Too far, and I can't hold the rifle steady enough. So I only hit "movers" in the 100-250 meter range.
