If some people are cheating by using an aimbot or something like that, would it cause you, and everybody else in the server, to get all kinds of weird ping spikes and lag that normally does not occur?
no
Never played with someone using an Aimbot to my knowledge, but thats a local program. That shouldn't affect the server. Most likely its you or the server having issues. If someone joined with a 250+ ping that can slow everything down for everyone tho.
Sometimes other peoples pings affect your own ping, but i've played with people with pings over 800 and not expierienced a touch of lag.
They don't affect your ping at all, they just get left behind. That's why it's pointless to kick people for high pings.maniacmattie wrote:

usmarine - The answer is no.
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
They don't effect your ping, but every packet that is relying on the information from their packet is screwed up, so yes, it can effect your gameplay.haffeysucks wrote:

Hacks wouldn't change your ping or give ping spikes. Are you talking about the US server still, or has your problem persisted in other servers?
It was just last night on the same US server I always play on. Same thing was happening to my friend also. I guess since we both suspected someone of cheating, and we had unusual lag, we thought maybe it was cause by the cheaters. Guess not though. Thanks.Flaming_Maniac wrote:
